”FESTIVAL of the GULF” MUSICAL HOLIDAYS August 17 to 26 2014 in Salerno (Italy) Instrumental, Vocal, and Composition Courses of Music Ente Concerti Castello di Belveglio The Festival of the Gulf Summer Courses of Musical Perfectionment organized by the Ente Concerti Castello di Belveglio, are open to citizens of all nationalities, students or graduates of conservatories, academies or music schools. Enrollment is made by completing the enrollment form (within May 30th) to be sent by E mail or post to the Ente Concerti Castello di Belveglio, v. Mazzini 11, 14040 Belveglio (Asti) Italy together with payment of the enrollment fee of Euro 60 (not reembursable in the event a student renounces his participation). Payment of this tax may be made by bank remittance to the Ente Concerti Castello di Belveglio c/o Cassa di Risparmio di Asti Bank:: SWIFT CASRIT22 IBAN IT74I0608547490000000020410. Particiants have rooms with private bath and telephone (from two to four persons) at the Fondazione Passarelli Insitute of SanMarco di Castellabate (Salerno) Italy, situated in the center of a large private park. The Institute provides study rooms, restaurant, tennis courts and swimming pool, all included in the cost of the sojourn. Entrance to the Institute is reserved exclusively to participants (and eventual family members) of the summer courses. The reservations of the best rooms are reserved to the earliest enrollments. No single rooms are available. The beautiful sea coast of the zone (both sand and rocky areas) is 300 yards from the Institute, and the nearby ruins of Paestum,grottos of Palinuro are an important tourist site. Visits to Capri can be organized at the participant’s expense. During the Courses participants have the opportunity to perform as soloists or in groups, receiving upon completion a Diploma or certificate of participation. It is obligatory to frequent the daily lessons, but performance is at the discretion of the professor. It is also possible to frequent a second course of chamber music. All students are obliged to bring their instrument (except pianists and harpists), together with their music stand. The fee for participation includes ten days of lessons, room and board, and is payable by international bank remittance by July 15th 2014. The harpist ROBERTA ALESSANDRINI graduated “cum laude” from the Conservatory of Venice, and complete her preparation under the guide of Pierre Jamet, Elizabeth Fontan-Binoche and Susan Mildonian.She has won many prizes among which: 1° Prize of Honor in the International Conpetition in Paris (1985), 1° Prize “Rietman” competition in Genova (1984), 1° Prize “Salvi” at S. Margherita Lig. Chiavari.She has been invited repeatedly for concerts and the Arena in Verona, Soloists of Sofia, Orch. Esterhazy, Rosetu of Milan, Ensemble Zandonai, and as soloist she has recorded for NAXOS, Bottega Discantica (hap music from ʻ800 abd ʻ900 Centuries), and other recording companies. She is active also in Duo with Gino Maini (flute) and Stefan Coles (violin).

The flutist DIEGO COLLINO graduated from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Milan under the guidance of Marlaena Kessick. He has also completed courses of perfectionment with Glauco Cambursano, Giuseppe Garbarino, Renato Zanfini and Emilia Fadini. He has been invited as First Flute in various Italian orchestras (Opera of Alessandria, Teatro Massimo of Palermo, Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan, La Scala of Milan), he has given solo concerts for principal Italian organisms (Accademia Filarmonica, Ensemble Garbarino, Solisti di Roma, Orch. Sammartini, Orch. RAI Milan, Ensemble Symphonia, Bad Camberg Kammerorchester, Les Solistes de Versaille) in Germany, France, Switzerland and Romania. He is active also as orchestra conductor, and has directed leading soloists Severino Gazzelloni, Marlaena Kessick, Sergio Perticaroli, Alirio Diaz, Cecilia Chailly, Giuliano Carmignola, and others. After having taught in the Conservatories of Como, Venice, Triest and Messina, since 1992 after winning the Italian Board of Education Competition, he is Professor of Flute in the Milan Conservatory.

GIUSEPPE ELOS, professor of Composition in the Conservatory of Turn, has been awarded in some of the most important international competitions: “Kobe” of Japan, Bertold Brecht of Milan, “Viotti” of Vercelli, CARME, Castello di Belveglio, “Evangelisti” in Rome, and “Nuovo Musica per la Danza” of Turin. His compositions have been performed at the Centre Pompidou of Paris, Radio RAI Italy, Radio France, GAMO Festival of Florence, September Music of Turin, Geneva Concerts (Switzerland), “Casella” Festival, Europa Music, Festival of Bergamo, Cremona and others.

Clarinettist MASSIMO FERRARIS graduated from the Turin Conservatory under the guidance of Raffaele Annunziata and perfected his musical preparation with Gervase de Peyer. He has won many competitions among which First Prize in the Stresa International Competition. Since 1984 he performs in Duo Clarinet and Harp with Fernanda Saravalli, and has collaborated as soloist with the Orfeo Ensemble of Genova, Hiperion, and other chamber music groups. Specialized in Eb Clarinet, he has given concerts with the principal Italian Symphonic orchestras, participating under the direction of Zubin Metha, Daniel Oren, Eliahu Inbal, Myung-Whun Chung, Riccardo Chailly and others, besides tournées in all of Europe and China. He has recorded for Decca, Fonit-Cetra, Denon, Gallo and Dynamic, and since 1995 holds the position of Second Clarinet with obligatory Eb and Bass Clarinet in the Carlo Felice Orchestra of Genoa. He also participates in the Columbus Orchestra of Genova as First Clarinet and Tenor Saxophone and has taught for seven years Clarinet and Saxophone at the Civic Musical Institute of Susa (Turin).LUIGI GIACHINO, pianist and composer graduated from the Conservatory of Turin with maximum votations, and obtained the CEE Diploma for Composition and Orchestration. His symphonic works are published by Curci, Fonit, Waner and others. “Fello” of the Centro Studi Foundation for Arts and Letters, in 1993 he was awarded the Italian Authorsʼ Society Award. He has taught for the Fiesole Accademy and is presently professor of Composition at the Genova Conservatory. He has received commissions for publicity music by important companies (Fiat, Giugiaro, Medagold, Portafoglio Italia Holding, besides scenic music for Italian Radio, RAISAT, University and Accademy of Dance of Turin, Chamber of Commerce, and others.

LUIGI GIACHINO, concert pianist and composer, graduate of the Turin Conservatory with highest honors, received post graduate diploma CEE in Composition and Orchestration. His symphonic works are published by Curci, Warner,Fonit and others, and have been recorded for. Fellow of the Centro Study Foundation for Arts and letters, in 1993 he won the Authorsʼ Society Award and became Assistant professor at the Fiesole Academy. After his intial activities as concert pianist in all of Europe, his ballets and scenic music have been commissioned by RAIDUE, RAISAT, FIAT Auto, Torino Spettacoli, the Italian Ministry, European CODG XI Committe, Lipu, City of Torino, Giugiaro Design, RAI TRE, Medagold, University of Turin, Portfoglio Italia Holding, Turin Dance Academy, Italian Chamber of Commerce, and others.

Cellist KALIN IVANOV began his studies in Bulgaria and graduated at the Brooklyn College Conservatory under the guidance of Marion Feldman, continuing perfectionment with David Soyer, Nathaniel Rosen, Steven Doane, Laurence Lesser and Anatoli Krastev. Winner of the C.W Post Chamber Music Festival Competition, he has given solo concerts in Bulgaria, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, France, England, Russia, Czechoslovakia and USA with Plovdiv Philharmonic, Bulgarian Virtuosi Orchestra, Pazardjik Symphony, Moscow Chamber Orchestra “Cantus Firmus”, Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra, Academy Chamber Orchestra, Manhattan Virtuosi Orchestra, Ensemble Du Monde Orchestra, Prague Sinfonietta, Sofia Philharmonic, Varna Philharmonic, Sliven Symphony, Sinfonietta - Sofia, North Shore Symphony etc. He has recorded for WNYC Radio New York, WWFM CLASSICAL Radio, New Jersey, Voice of America, Voice of Russia, Radio Free Europe, WNYE Radio New York, CUNY TV, WNYE TV, NTD-TV, Eurocom TV, Bulgarian National Radio e TVAng Lee). MARIA TERESA LEVATI, pianist graduate of the Conservatory of Milan, completed her artistic preparation under the guidance of Jorg Demus, Charles Rosen, Vitaly Margulis, receiving the Diploma of Merit of

the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena. She has also obtained the Diploma for Composition of Electronic Music from the Studio of Fonologia RAI Radio of Milan. Her concert actiity in Italy and various European countries includes performances of contemporary music by foremost Italian composers with recordings for RAI Radio, Vatican Radio and other radio stations. She is professor of Piano of the Internationa Accademy of Music of Milan, and her “Method for Young Pianists is published by Sinfonica Editions. She is artistic director of the “Associazione Musicale Milanese”.

Pianist YULIA LIPMANOVICH graudated from the Juilliard School di New York (Bachelor of Arts) and obtained her Master Degree at the University of Tel Aviv, receiving repeated “full scholarships”. After winning the Soviet Composers Competition of Moscow, she won the tenth Young Artists Internazionale Competition of the Juillliard School, continuing an intense activity of solo concerts in the principal concert halls of USA (Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall), Israel, Russia, England (St. Martin in the Fields),and other European countries, also in chamber music formations with the “Trio Bor”, Chicago Piano Trio and Chicago Chamber Musicians Ensemble. She has recorded for world wide radio and television stations. Noted for her famous “school” (favorite protegée of Rosina Lhévinne), Dr. Lipmanovich has taught at the Boston Conservatory (USA) and Rubin Conservatory di Jerusalem (Israele), besides holding “master classes” per la Buchmann-Mehta Scuola di Tel-Aviv.

FABIO LUZ, Brazilian pianist graduate at 15 years of age from the San Paolo Conservatory (Tatuì), completed courses of perfectionment with B. Seidhoffer, José Carrasqueira and Ch. Doubler, receiving from the Paris University of Musc the Diplome de Concert under the guidance of Elaine Richepin. After being Musical Assistant do P. Emile Martin at Saint Eustache, he won various piano competitions (Nacional da Bahia, Giovani Solisti di Sao Paulo, Premio dell FUNARTE Rio de Janeiro, Premio dellʼAssciazione Critici dʼArte, “Prix International Debussy”a Saint-Germain-en-Laye) and began concertizing (both solo and chamber music) ad giving courses ad seminar/recitals in Europe, North America and South America for: Università di São Paulo (USP, UNICAMP - 2009), Escola de Música da UFRJ, Rio de Janeiro - 2011, 2012 - Curitiba, Parigi, Kansas, Iowa, Friburgo, i Conservatori di Torino, di Berna, di Rio de Janeiro, la Società del Quartetto di Bergamo, gli Amici della Musica di Pistoia, l'Auditorium RAI ed il Piccolo Regio di Torino, il Sao Carlos e il Palazzo Foz di Lisbona, il Lisinski di Zagabria, la Biennale di Venezia, Villa Medici Il Vascello a Roma, il Festival di Costanza, il Gasteig di Monaco, il Memorial da América Latina a Sao Paulo.

Cellist NICOLETTA MAINARDI graduated from the Florence Conservatory under the guidance of Franco Rossi, receiving perfectionment under the guidance of Pierre Fournier in Geneva, Switzerland. She has won the IFirst Prize of the International Competition of Genoa, “Premio Perriera” for best performance of Bach, “Vittorio Veneto” Award, and others, and has given solo concerts for the most important Italian associations with tournées in France, Czechslovakia and Slovenia. She performs in Duo with Riccardo Risaliti and with the flutist Vincenzo Caroli, besides in quartet with Cristiano Rossi and otherchamber music formations, and with the 808 Ensemble, she has given concerts at the La Scala Theatre of Milan and recorded for television. Nicoletta Mainard has also given concerts of baroque repertoire on original instruments, participating with the Baroque Orchestra of Bologna and Barockorchester of Mitteleuropa directed by Barthold Kuiken. She has also recorded CDs for Dyamic and Amadeus, and she is presently Professor of Cello of the Conservatory of Milan..

OLIVIA PAPA, violinist, graduated from the Bucarest Music Academy, and is now head professor of violin of the “Georghe Enescu” National College of Music. For her outstanding success in coaching artists awarded in international competitions, in 2008 she received from the Romanian Government the “Lifetime Achievement” Award of Excellence, and in 2009 the “Gheorghe Lazar” Diploma of Didactical Excellence. She has held “master classes” in various European cities, and is invited on the jury of international violin competitions.

DAVIDE PERRONE, Italian pianist and  composer, graduated from the Turin Conservatory under the guidance of Sergio Verdirame (piano), and Diploma Ecole Supérieure de Paris (Marcella Crudeli). His musical studies include “master classes” with  Alexander Lonquich.Vlado Perlemuter and Michele Campanella.  Graduate in Composition from the Turin Conservatory (Giuseppe Elos), he has studied Composition with Frano Donatoni and Gyorgy Ligeti. Since 1998 he is professor of Piano at the ACCRM di Rueil Malmaison and is Piano Accompanist of the CRC of Montigny le Bretonneux. His music is published by Delatour France.

The soprano WALLY SALIO won the “Maria Canls” International Vocal Competition of Barcellona, the “Gian Battista Viotti” of Vercelli, ASLICO of Milan, Spoleto Award and others, and in 2004 she received from the President of Italy the Prize of Opera Art and Culture. Her carrer in Italy and Europe includes the principal rolls of Aida, Trovatore, Ballo in Maschera, Rigoletto, Nabucco, Tosca, Suor Angelica Tabarro, Werther under the baton of Riccardo Chailly, O. De Fabriitis, Peter Maag, Nino Sanzogno, N. Annovazzi and others. After teaching in the Conservatory of Novara, since 2002 she collaborates with Franco Corelli, Alfredo Kraus, R. Kabaiwanska, E. Dara for opera workshop. Her “master classes” hare held in Paris, at the Lione Conservatory, for Musikseminar of Vienna and for the opera laboratory of Castellabate Salerno.

Lʼarpista FERNANDA SARAVALLI diplomata in Arpa e Didattica della Musica al Conservatorio di Torino, ha studiato con Albisetti, Verda, Antonelli e Bosio, perfezionandosi, inoltre, con Susanna Mildonian. Vincitrice di vari concorsi: Stresa, Asti, Salvi (finalista 1979), é invitata a collaborare con lʼOrch. Nazionale della RAI, Teatro Regio di Torino, Arturo Toscanini dellʼEmilia Romagna, Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, Carlo Felice di Genova, Orch. Sinf. di Sanremo, Orch. Sinf. della Valle dʼAosta, e altre. Ha effettuato tournées in Germania, Russia: Mosca (con Luciano Pavarotti) e Sanpietroburgo, New York, Vienna, Parigi, Praga, Principato di Monaco, Svizzera. Effettua concerti da solista nel Duo Sara (clarinetto e arpa), in varie formazioni da camera, ed é, inoltre, invitata per prestazioni solistiche con diveri gruppi bandistici. Il suo repertorio comprende la pià importante letteratura arpistica dal XVIII Sec. alla musica contemporanea, e ha registrato per la RAI e CD con lʼOrch. Filarmonica Ungherese.Già docente di Arpa presso i Conservatori di Alessandria Campobasso, Foggia, Genova e Messina, é attualmente titolare della cattedra di Arpa presso lʼIstituto Civico Musicale “Verdi” di Asti, “Brera” di Novara e presso il Centro Istruzione Musicale Torinese.

BIANCA SCONFIENZA, soprano, diplomata al Conservatorio di Alessandria, perfezionatasi in canto e arte drammatica con F. Mattiucci, R. Frenk, I. Zadek, I. Poli e Dorothy Dorow, ha effettuato numerosi concerti e registrazioni in varie parti dʼItalia con repertorio di operetta e musica da camera, dedicandosi anche alla musica

Protagonista della commedia musicale “Camillo” e in “Mata Hara” al Teatro La Crocetta di Torino e Teatro Alfieri di Asti, è dal 2006 collaboratrice con la compagnia operistica A.I.L.C. di Milano.Eʼ stata insegnante di Arte Scenica allʼistituto Musicale Regionale di Aosta. Sue registrazioni di CD sono pubblicate da Déja Vu, U.P.B. e Retro Gold con musiche di Pietro Magri, M. Kessick e Taj-Elos, oltreche con gruppo madrigalistico Hasta Madrigalis di Paolo Conte e in “Montisci” diA. Montisci.. Hanno scritto nuove musiche per lei G. Elos, M. Kessick, R. Mascolo, Tiziano Bedetti, S. Zoja, P. Bozzalla, A. Troi, G. Lorandi, L. Sambataro. Tiene seminari di Cantoterapia.

Clarinettist, LUCIANO TESSARI, graduated from the Milan Conservatory under the guidance of Giuseppe Garbarino, following which he received the Diploma of Merit from the Chigiana Music Accademy of Siena under Paolo Budini. He has also received the Diploma of Electronic Music Composition in the Milan Conservatory (Prof. Angelo Paccagnini). In 1981 he won the Italian Board of Education Competition, and since then he is Professor of Clarinet in the Milan Conservatory where he is also member of the Board of Directors. His concert activities, principally of chamber music, take place in Italy and other countries of Europe, and for his repertoire of contemporary music, new compositions have been dedicated to him by Bruno Bettinelli, Renato Dionisi, Riccardo Malipiero, Bruno Zanolini, Danilo Lorenzini, Angelo Belisario, Sonia Bo, Rocco Abate, and others.
