Lance Richardson - Queen Anne's County States Attorney,
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, August 20, 1968, Lance grew up on
Kent Island and attended Queen Anne’s County public
schools. He is a 1986 graduate of QACHS and was co
valedictorian as well as the recipient of the Robert Conley
Scholar Athlete Award. As a scholar athlete he lettered in three
sports: Soccer, Wrestling and lacrosse. He was named to the
first team mid shore all-star team for soccer and awarded the
MVP for the soccer team my senior year. In wrestling he was a
state finalist and was a starter on the lacrosse team.
He continued his education and graduated from The University of
Maryland at College Park and the University of Baltimore School
of Law. He is currently the State’s Attorney for Queen Anne’s
County, a position he has held since 2009. Before that he was a
deputy state’s attorney and prior to that appointment he served
as an assistant public defender in Queen Anne’s County.
He currently resides in Church Hill with wife Denise and two
children, both of who are scholar athletes at QACHS.

Sports – Basketball and Track & Field
Damonte Maurice Dodd was born and raised on Maryland’s Eastern
Shore, Son of Michael and Angela Anderson. As a child and young adult, he
attended Bethel AME Church in Centreville, MD, played drums, and was also
a member of the New Life Methodist Men’s Choir.
He attended school in Centreville, MD, graduating from Queen Anne’s
County High School May 2012. While playing basketball during his senior
year he averaged 24 points, 16 rebounds and seven blocks in the 2011-12
season. He is a member of the 1,000 point club at Queen Anne’s and holds
the school record for blocked shots in 2011 and 2012.
Recruited to play basketball out of high school for the University of
Maryland, College Park, he decided to take a year to attend prep school at
Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Virginia. At Massanutten, he
became a mentor and friend to many of the younger students and played in
the marching band at the academy.
After Massanutten he did attend University of Maryland, College Park
where he joined the starting line-up during his senior year. During his
experience on the Terps Basketball team he was appreciative of Assistant
Coach Bino Ranson and Coach Mark Turgeon who helped him to accelerate
in his playing skills. His junior year he harnessed his skills and achieved
many statistics in many of the games he played in. His senior year held
many accomplishments, including ranking number 8 on Maryland’s career
blocks list at 138. He achieved a career high 15 points during the Michigan
game. With three blocks vs. Kansas State he became the 14th player to
record 100 or more blocks at Maryland (101). His first career double-double
(13 pts. & 10 rebounds) was vs. St. Mary’s Md.
For his contributions to the NCAA tournament, the Big 10 Tournament in
Washington, DC., he was honored at the Xfinity Center before the Michigan
State March 4th game.
Damonte was proud to be a student athlete and graduated from the
University of Maryland, College Park, in May 2017 with a degree major in
African American Studies.
His dream is to continue playing basketball at the professional level and is
prayerful that with hard work, practice, and focus, he will achieve his dream

Damonte Dodd, son of Michael and Angela Anderson. Born and raised in Centreville, MD
Eastern Shore.
He was a 2012 graduate of Queen Annes County High School where he played Center on
the men's Basketball team and also ran track. His victory game was Kent County 41
points, 21 rebounds, and seven blocks.
For one year 2012-2013 Damonte stayed at Massanutten Military Academy in
Woodstock,Va.. He was able to play with basketball star, Frank Mason III,
He also played with a number of Division I recruits while at the academy,
After completing Massanutten, Damonte enrolled in the University of Maryland College
Park, in February 2012. He would eventually be the starting Center for the Terps
basketball team. Assistant coach Bino Ranson and Coach Mark Turgeon helped him to

Damonte Maurice Dodd was born and raised on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. As a child and

development began. He served as a musician at Bethel AME Church and was also a
member of the New Life Methodist Men’s Choir. He prides himself on being a child of God.
Damonte attended school in Centreville, MD, graduating from Queen Anne’s County High
School in May 2012. At Queen Anne’s, Damonte played basketball and ran track. During
his senior year, he averaged 24 points, 16 rebounds, and seven blocks in the 2011–12
season. His most dominant performance came in an overtime victory over Kent County in
which he tallied 42 points, 21 rebounds, and seven blocks. He is a member of the 1,000
point club at Queen Anne’s and holds the school record for blocked shots (2011 and
2012).
He was recruited to play basketball out of high school for the University of Maryland,
College Park. However, before enrolling at Maryland, he decided to take a year to attend
prep school at Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Virginia. This decision was
difficult to make but proved to be crucial to his development on and off the court. At
Massanutten, Damonte’s life was not just focused on basketball. He was a mentor and
friend to many of the younger students and played in the marching band at the academy.
From Massanutten, Damonte’s journey led him to the University of Maryland, College
Park, where his defensive abilities earned him the respect of his coaches and teammates
and a position in the starting lineup during his senior year. During the 2016–2017 season,
Damonte’s highlights included:

At College Park, Damonte was proud to be a student athlete. He worked hard to study and
maintain the grades needed to play on the team. Damonte graduated from the University
of Maryland, College Park, in May 2017 with a degree major in African American Studies.

Sports – Football, Wrestling, and LacrosseKenny was born June 14, 1982 to the parents of Alan and Sandy Hartmann. He has two
older sisters both graduates of QACHS, Lauren class of 1995 and Stacey class of 1998.
Kenny was a three time Varsity football player coached by Donnie Graef. He achieved All
Bayside 1st Team in 1998 as an offensive lineman and again in 1999 for both a offensive and
defensive lineman. In both the 1998 and1999 football seasons he was a two time Maryland
State Honorable Mention for a small school. He also achieved 2nd team All Mason Dixon Team
as well as the football boosters and all sports Scholarship.
Along with football Kenny was a three time Varsity Wrestling letter winner coached by QACHS
Hall of Famer Andy Schipul, Curtis George, Al Michaels. In 1997 he had a record of 28 -13,
finished 4th in districts, and placed 5th in regionals. He earned awards for honorable mention All
Bayside. This season he won awards for most Pins in a Season, Most Regional Points, and
Overall Wrestler of the year given out by his coaches. In 1998 he had a record of record of 40 -
8, finished 2nd in districts, and 1st in the East Regional along with Al Waters and Frankie Conley.
In 1999 he went into the wrestling season as no.1 Heavyweight in the State and this season
proved to be his most successful. He finished with a 37 – 6 record, 1st in the Kent Island
Tournament, 2nd in the Kent Holiday Tournament, 1st in the South River Tournament, 2nd in
Districts, and 2nd in Regionals. In addition to his athletic career he is also a member of the 1000
lb. club for weightlifting.
After high school Kenny attended Shepherd University and played football under Monte Cater
and Ernie McCook. In 2000 he redshirted as a freshman. Unfortunately in 2001 he tore his left
knee which took him out for part of the season. He tried to return and suffered a broken foot.
Surgery on his knee took place in 2002 and ultimately had to hang up the pads.
He turned to coaching football at Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, PA from 2003 to
2005. There he coached the Offensive and Defensive lines all three years. Under his
supervision the team won the MAPL Conference Championship. While coaching at Mercersburg
he has coached two now Pro players, Vincent Rey, Linebacker Cincinnati Bengals and Josh
Edgin, Pitcher for the New York Mets. Kenny also coached wrestling at the Academy were he
assisted with the heavyweights and watched as one athlete, Josh Edgin placed 4th in Nationals.
He continued coaching wrestling in 2016 -2017 with Patuxent Wrestling again assisting with
Heavyweights under Head Coach Mike Bartley.
Kenny started working with the Prince Georges County Police Department in 2005 where he
currently is a Corporal in District III Palmer Park Station, where he is an assistant supervisor on
Squad 24. He is currently serving a second term as the 2nd VP of the Sons of the American
Legion POST 274 in Lusby, MD. He is married to Jessica Hartmann, QACHS class of 1999 and
has three children Daniel Bardoff16, Samantha Hartmann 8, and Reese Hartmann age 4

Sports – Soccer, Swimming, and Lacrosse
Born on Sept. 13, 1994 in Annapolis, MD Bre is the daughter of Cheryl
Hamm. Always a talented scholar athlete at Queen Anne’s she was a
member of the National Honors Society while at QACHS.
In high school Bre was a four year member of the varsity soccer team. She
was voted 1st team All Mid-Shore in 2009, 2010, and 2011. She received the
Unsung Hero award in 2011. She additionally was a four year member of the
varsity lacrosse team where she again was named to 1st Team All Mid-Shore
in 2009, 2010, and 2011. In 2012 she achieve Honorable Mention All-
American as well as nominated the team MVP award. She was a valuable
member of the regional teams in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
Bre attended Towson University and majored in Exercise Science. Here
she was a member of the Towson’s Varsity Women’s Lacrosse team. In
2013 she was the only freshman to appear in all 19 games while making
seven starts mid-season. She was placed on the All Colonial Athletic
Association All-Rookie Team her freshman year. Her senior year displayed
her most accomplishments beginning by being named captain of the lacrosse
team. She was Preseason All-CAA in 2015 & 2016, as well as CAA
Tournament Most Outstanding Player and received 2nd Team All-CAA in 2016.
She was a participant in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches
Association (IWLCA) North/South All-Star Game in 2016 and was named to
the IWLCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region 2nd Team.
Bre currently is an active volunteer at Baltimore Station which is an
innovative therapeutic residential treatment program supporting veterans and
others who are transitioning through the cycle of poverty, addiction, and
homelessness to self-sufficiency. She is currently employed as an Account
Executive at New Day USA where she assists veterans in the purchase a
new home.

Graduation Year - 1970
Sports – Football, Basketball, and Baseball
As an athlete Lawrence lettered in multiple sports at QACHS. In football he
was a middle linebacker and full back and a guard in basketball. He fulfilled
many positions on the baseball team including pitcher, first base, and center
field. He fills out his athletic career with a letter in soccer as a left wing. He
was named to All-Bayside Conference Football Team and the All Delmarva
All-Star Football Team in 1968 and1969.
Larry continued his athletic career at Appalachian State University in Boone,
North Carolina. Here he played two seasons of football in 1970 and 1971.
He received his bachelor of Arts in 1975.
Within the local community and his current community in West Virginia,
Larry has contributed in many ways. He was a member of the Centreville
United Methodist Church here in Centreville, MD as well as a member of
Hedges Chapel in Hedgesville, WV. He has also been a multiple-year
participant in the Appalachian Service Project as well as the Queen Anne’s
County Mentoring Program for students in the school system.
Larry is currently retired and lives in Hedgesville, WV with his wife of 45
years, Susan Cecil Morris, class of 1969. Prior to his retirement he was a
salesman for Morton Building, Inc. He has two daughters Lauren, class of
1993 and Katherine, class of 1995. Larry is also the proud grandfather of six
grandchildren. He adds that he has many professional sports
accomplishments, however only in his dreams from his La-Z-Boy on Sunday
afternoons.

Sports – Soccer, Indoor Track, and LacrosseBorn on May 26, 1981 in Chestertown, MD to the parents of James and Fern.
She has three siblings; Kimberly class of 20, Taylor class of 20, and Jamie class of
. Betty was a standout scholar athlete earning a varsity letter all four years, all
three seasons minus her freshman soccer season.
She was named to the 1st Team All Conference in 1997 and a North Bayside All-
Star in 1998. In 1998 she was invited to play in the MACS North South All-State
soccer game. Her indoor track career composed of being a sprinter, running the
50 as well as being a member of the 200 and 400 relay teams. She excelled in
lacrosse receiving Most Improved Defense award her sophomore year in 1996.
She was a North Bay-Side All Star in 1998. Her senior year stats encompass 16
goals, 5 assists, 70 ground balls, 24 face offs and 10 defensive interceptions.
After graduation she attended Washington College where she played both
soccer and lacrosse for four years. She is the first player in the women’s lacrosse
team’s history to earn All-Centennial Conference first-team honors three times,
doing so in 2001, 2002, and 2003. She was also a three-time All-Region selection,
landing on the first team in 2003, and a two-time All-American, receiving honorable
mention in 2001 and first-team accolades in 2003. She was a 2003 North-South
Senior All-Star and a 2003 ECAC All-Star. One of the most effective midfielders on
the defensive end the program has ever seen, Betty ranks third in school history
with 94 career caused turnovers and fifth with 197 career ground balls. She was
also a threat on the offensive end, finishing with exactly 100 career points on 75
goals and 25 assists. In four years with Betty on the team, the Shorewomen went
44-25, qualifying for three Centennial Conference Tournament and two ECAC
Tournament appearances. She played for the first two 14-win teams in program
history.
On the soccer field, Betty tallied five career goals and one career assist in four
seasons. In Betty’s sophomore season, the Shorewomen – then in just their third-
ever varsity season – won eight games. They equaled that mark Betty’s senior
year.
Betty has had the opportunity to contribute her athletic talents within the local
community. She has coached for the Sudlersville youth lacrosse program for a few
years, however more recently has coached her own children on their youth soccer
teams. She considers herself very fortunate to teach 3rd grade at Kennard
Elementary School since her graduation from Washington College. Betty currently
lines in Chestertown with her husband Mark, class 1999, and there three children;
Cooper (7), Ella (6), and Connor (4).

Frank and Debbie Conley were proud supporters of the QACHS Athletic
Program. Much of their contributions are noted with the Football Boosters.
There dedication to Queen Anne’s runs deep as both are alumni. Frank
graduated in 1971 and Debbie in 1973. Both were athletes while attending
QACHS, Frank played both football and baseball and Debbie was a member
of the JV Volleyball team in 1970-71.
Debbie and Frank have supported QACHS athletics and programs for many
years as active Football Boosters from 1995-2002 and continue to support
athletic programs at QACHS to this date. There was never a task that they
did not help or offer assistance when asked and many times without being
asked. They are proud to state that from 1995-2001 they never missed a
high school football game.
Both Debbie and Frank continue to remain local to the area. Debbie has
worked for Queenstown Bank for 20 years. Prior to her work at the bank she
had a home daycare business for many years while her children were young.
Frank worked for Queen Anne’s County Roads Department for 38 years until
his more recent retirement. In his free time he continued his athletic career
and played softball for the Miller Beer team and Hardees team winning the
State Championship.

Football Coach – 12 years
Athletic Director – 19 years – Queen Anne’s County High School.
Opened Kent Island High School Athletic Department in 1998.
Athletic Director of both schools 1998-2012 – 14 years.
Dave was a 1972 graduate of North Caroline High school. While a student at
NCHS he participated in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. He was involved
with Student Government, School Newspaper, and chorus.
After high school Dave attended Salisbury State College. Here he played
four years of football and 1 year of baseball. He was a proud member of the
first football team in school history in 1972 and he is currently serving on the
45th anniversary reunion committee for this historic team. He graduated from
Salisbury in 1976.
In 1977 he began his teaching career at his alma mater North Caroline High
school as a Physical Education and Health teacher. He also had the
opportunity to coach both football and baseball. His career in Queen Anne’s
County began in 1983 again as a Physical Education and Health teacher. He
also served as Head Football coach for12 years from1983 to1994. His
Athletic Director career began in 1993 serving until his retirement in 2012.
Dave served other administrative roles including the Maryland Public
Secondary Schools Athletic Association Football and Appeals committees
and he served as President of the Bayside Athletic Association in 1996-97.
Within the local community Dave is a member of St. Paul's Episcopal
Church in Centreville. Here he served on the Vestry from 2012-2015, also
serving as Junior Warden (Buildings and Grounds) in 2015. For well over 25
years he has served as an usher for the church.
Dave is enjoying his retirement, residing in Centreville, with his wife of 39
years, Sally Hilton Cooper, a retired QACPS Pre-K teacher. They have two
daughters Katie (36) and Laura (32), both QACHS graduates as well as two
son in laws Colin and Matt, and two granddaughters Caroline (6) and
Genevieve (3).

AND all the great people I worked with and for. It is truly an honor to be
inducted into the QACHS Sports Hall of Fame.”
