    In the United States, the term “affordable housing” is used to describe housing that is affordable no matter what one’s income is. Affordable housing makes up for 20%* of all multifamily housing in the country with over 3.8 million regulated units (including both LIHTC and Section 8 properties). The total real estate value nationwide is estimated to be over $222 billion.
