Jesus told us to go and make disciples. We need to take that seriously with the girls and boys who make a profession of faith in VBS.

The dictionary tells us that the word disciple means “learner” or “pupil.” It goes on to say that the people Jesus called to follow Him during His earthly ministry are called disciples. When girls and boys confess Jesus as their Savior at VBS, our responsibility is to disciple them—to help them know what it means to live the Christian life. Part of that process includes baptism, the Lord’s Supper, learning how to study the Bible, attending church, having a quiet time, and beginning to serve others.

Talk about reasons for discipleship for children.
