Students will work on a historical research project of their choosing based around this year's theme of Exploration and Encounter in History. Our regional qualifying competition is at the British School Jakarta in March and then students who place first or second in their division have the opportunity to compete at the world finals at the University of Maryland in June (near Washington DC). This is an amazing experience. NHD is particularly suitable for students considering applying to American colleges and universities.

It is aimed at students wanting to explore how sound and lighting works, as well as looking at how to work in a recording studio environment. They will have the opportunity to run the sound and lighting for school assemblies and major school performance events, such as the senior production. No prior knowledge or experience is needed.

Student Led None Music Industry is broken down into 3 main aspects; Songwriting, Stage and Studio. Songwriting is a vital part of being a musician, and formulating ideas and melodies will be a big focus. Stage is mainly performance based aspects of being a musician. Lastly, Studio focuses on the students being able to record their music, and hopefully at the end of the school year, students will be able to record their music in a proper studio.

Science Lab Tom Moore Practical and engineering applications of the science. Currently, many top end universities require students to show their passion and knowledge in engineering if they aim for these fields. It helps students differentiate themselves and essential for successful university applications. It will start from basics of engineering and electronics and develop into larger scale projects such as Robot Wars or the Google Science Fair.
