The Big Give S.A. is back for round two and happy to welcome you as an

Agency Advocate for our second annual Big Give S.A. give day! Last year,

the Big Give raised over 2.1 million dollars for 467 participating local

non-profit organizations. Thanks to last year’s success, we are shooting

even higher for 2015. This year, we have expanded the Big Give beyond

Bexar County to include 10 new counties and 878 agencies! To match

our expanding reach, we’ve upped our fundraising goal to $3 million. But

we cannot do this alone!

Lend your voice and your network to support your favorite local non-profit

and make the South Central Texas a better place!

What is a Big Give Agency Advocate?

To all those people looking for a way to do more for their community

outside of a donation, this is the place for you! A Big Give S.A. Agency

Advocate serves as an promoter for their non-profit organization of choice

by actively communicating to their friends on social media, hosting a

fundraising event, or spreading the word about the Big Give S.A. to friends

and family by word of mouth!

How can I support the Big Give S.A.?

The possibilities are endless! Let your creativity take over and make your

Big Give S.A. campaign your own.

1. Spread the word! Consider your communication/social media

outlets:

a. Email: Develop a mailing list of friends and family. Craft email

messages about the Big Give S.A. and your favorite non-profit

and

b. Facebook: Make it easy! ‘Like’ us on Facebook and share our

Big Give S.A. posts and check out the Social Media Samples

and co-workers. Do what feels natural and make spreading the word

Remind your network that the Big Give starts tomorrow! Tag your

selected nonprofit and use our Big Give hashtags #StrongerTogether

Share the Big Give’s goal to raise $3 million total before the end of

May 5th and send them to your organization’s donation page to get

them excited.

Dear Friends and Family,

On May 5, 2015, San Antonio and the surrounding counties will come

together for 24 hours of nonprofit giving during the Big Give S.A. The Big

Give is South Central Texas’ second annual giving day, and it’s our chance

to make a real impact as part of a family and a community. Last year’s

event raised nearly $2,100,000 for local charitable causes and I know that

we can do even more this year! I have signed up as an Agency Advocate

for (organization’s name) in hopes to help their cause in this year’s Big

Give. Help me make an impact on May 5th by donating to (organization’s

name) through the Big Give S.A. website: http://www.thebiggivesa.org/ or

Below are ideas for further discussion:

Tell your story. Why did you choose to sponsor this organization?

Discuss the opportunities for your organization of choice to receive

prize money and matching dollars.

Share a picture or YouTube video with the organization’s mission or

your own personal story.

Tell them about a target hour or goal your organization has for the Big

Give S.A.

Mention your fundraising event.

Ask for a specific donation and for them to share to a certain number

of people. For example, ask for a $25 donation and for them to share

with 10 of their friends or family..

Fundraising Event Suggestions Ask your agency if they are hosting a Big Give S.A. event. If they are, make

sure you rally all of your friends and family to attend and/or ask your

nonprofit how you can volunteer to make their event more successful.

If your nonprofit is not hosting an event, hold one yourself! Hosting a

fundraising event could encourage your friends and family to come together

and give BIG to your cause. Host an event on May 5, 2015, or before and

collect your funds to donate on the day of the Big Give. Be creative and let

your personality shine as Agency Advocate! Start by taking a look at our

suggestions.

1. Host a watch party on May 5th at your home to encourage giving

throughout the 24-hour period.

2. Host a barbeque in your backyard or a local park and charge your

guests a fee to eat. Donate the proceeds to your agency of choice.

3. Arrange an office “Dareyoke” night! Someone throws $20 into a pot

and dares another person to sing “Sea of Love” or some other torch

song. Others who want a piece of the action can put into the pot as

well. Once the pot is as big as it is going to get, the person who has

been challenged to sing can either match the pot and get out of

singing or sing away! No expense!

4. Have a garage sale and donate all proceeds to your organization on

May 5th!

What’s Next?

1. Tell the world why you give local! Download and print this photo from

local! Next, Instagram, Facebook, or Tweet to your friends a picture

of you with your “I Give Local” sign. Let’s get the word out that San

Antonio and the surrounding counties give big and give local!

2. Once the Big Give S.A. comes to an end on May 6th, make sure you

thank your supporters and donors for all the ways they helped you

make a difference!
