AGENDA
Welcome Message
On behalf of, the Mining Suppliers Trade Association Canada (MSTA CANADA) and the Canadian Council
on Africa (CCAfrica), we are very pleased to welcome you to our first partnered event to be hosted at
Fairmont Royal York hotel.
The theme this year is “Creative Disruption” which speaks not only to the new innovative technologies
being adopted by the mining industry but also to the how all stakeholders are engaging in new and
better ways to ensure we can innovate faster and more successfully. You will hear from some of the
leaders in the industry on how they are creatively disrupting the normal approaches to doing business in
our industry. And you will see some of these technologies at the event such as Hard-Line Solutions,
Hepburn Engineering and Taiga Robotics.
We are also very pleased to welcome our international delegates from Ghana, South Africa and Chile to
our event. These are three countries that are well known for their deep history in mining and some of
the best growth opportunities in the mining industry. They are all open for business and that is why they
are here.
The second day will be on Canada – Africa Trade and Investment with focus on Ghana and
South Africa. The Africa day will address the positive impact of natural resources development
as the engine to economic and sustainable development in Africa. We are also very happy to have
ProChile again host the Day one cocktail “Mines and Wines” which is always a great networking event.
We are also excited to have at our gala dinner internationally recognized political journalist John
Ibbitson as our guest speaker to provide us with a big picture view of the current state of affairs
“Navigating through the Turmoil - Political Disruption, Shifting Trade and Population Decline”
Special thank you to our sponsors for your support.
We wish all the participants a successful and productive event.
Sincerely,
Ryan McEachern, Managing Director Nola Kianza, President and CEO

The Canadian Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) helps companies navigate the complexities
of international markets and make better business decisions. The TCS is on the ground in more
than 160 cities worldwide. We gain market intelligence, uncover opportunities for Canadian
companies and help reduce business costs and risks. The TCS is a free service of the
Government of Canada, helping companies to prepare for international markets, assess market
potential, find qualified contacts and resolve business problems.
Our network of international contacts is unbeatable. As part of Global Affairs Canada and of
Canada’s network of embassies, the TCS has access to local governments and key business
leaders and decision makers. We can increase the credibility of Canadian companies in global
markets by helping them gain access to local contacts not readily available to outside
businesses.
TCS insights help you save time and money by avoiding
costly mistakes that may result from trial and error. We often
know what questions companies need to ask but may be
unaware of. Research shows that companies that use TCS
services are more successful at exporting than those that
don’t: the value of their exports is 18 percent higher, and
they export to 36 percent more markets. Learn more
