Programme for the 3rd Meeting of Comenius Project “CARE”

October 10 (Monday)

(last flight arrives at 16.40)

A bus will transport all the teachers and students to Penalva – departure from Oporto Airport at approx. 17H15.

Arrival in Penalva at approx: 18H45

Families will be awaiting the foreign students Free dinner

October 11 (Tuesday)

Students go to school with their host students

9:15-9:45 Official Welcoming reception (City Hall - Mayor , School Headmaster, Project

Coordinator and President of the Parents Association) (Translation in English will be provided)

Back to school (on foot)

10:30- Coffee break

10.45 – 13H00 Traditional Portuguese games (Teachers and students)

13:00 – Lunch (School canteen – Teachers & Students).

(Portuguese students eat in the school canteen with their host student )

14:00 -14:45 – Presentation of work developped in the several schools (Care day etc...)

14.45:00 -16.30 – Setting up of, presentation and explaining of photos/drawings of activities

on CARE day (as a tour in a museum: each school has to organize an exhibition on a table and / or a wall with

photos and films – AN3)

16.30 -17.25 Presentation and work of the film team ( film about the ecological footprint).

17h30 - Students take their host students home

Teachers return to hotel

(19:30 – meeting at the hotel – dinner at a nearby restaurant)

October 12 (Wednesday) –

Students go to school with their host students

Teachers walk to school.

9h00 –10:30 – Presentation of the photos for the eco calendar (creating a calendar of the weeks ,each school should bring 8 photos) 11:00- Coffee break

10.30 – 12.00 Field trip (area surrounding school) with the task for the student groups (groups of 4) to take more pictures for the calendar: “ We leave traces”. (our school can provide some digital cameras if needed) 12.00 - Photo contest 13:00 – Lunch (School canteen).

(Portuguese students eat in the school canteen with their student hosts )

14:00 – Guided tour to “Linhares da Beira” (Teachers and students incl. Hosting students)

18.30- Arrival at school

Students take their host students home

Teachers return to hotel

19:30 – meeting at hotel for dinner at a local restaurant (teachers)

October 13 (Thursday)

9H00 -12H00 Workshop for the future:

Phases of the future workshop “The world in 2050: Create a scenario in which man

ensures sustainability.”

1. Introduction: “journey of imagination” while looking at photos of the contest (music!)

2. Imagination of a world worth living in in 2050: each student collects ideas (“everything is

possible”, time for your wishes and dreams) and after 10 minutes brainstorming, the students

form small groups (at least 4 students). They find and write down their favourite topics. Then

they choose one topic.

3. Task: “Design a poster which promotes the scenario concerning your topic of

sustainable living for the public!” (Computer)

“Present the poster and consider how your vision might become true.”

(10.30 coffee break )

13:00 – Lunch (School canteen).

(Portuguese students eat in the school canteen with their host student )

14:15 – Guided tour to “Viseu” (Teachers and students)

15:30-16:30-Free time

16:30-Meeting at a previously designated palce .

17.25- Arrival at school

Students take their host students home

Teachers return to hotel

20:00 –Dinner at “Casa da Ínsua” (Teachers)

20.00 - 24.00h – Party for students organized by the senior year students

October 14 –(Friday) River Douro Cruise (teachers students)

8:00- Departure from school.

Cruise

13.00h Lunch at Quinta da Pacheca (Visit to the vineyards & winery)

16:00 Departure to Penalva do Castelo

17:30 Arrival at Penalva (Students take their host students home )

Free dinner
