Pleased to report that our latest production

ARE YOU BEING SERVED (brilliantly

directed by Christine Linning) was a huge

success, being our ‘specialty’ play for 2016.

Having a specialty play each year is proving

to be a popular decision. Stay tuned for 2017.

Make a note in your diaries for our AGM to be

held 28th February 2017. We have a very hard

working committee but there is always room

for more. ‘Many hands make light work’ as

they say. All newcomers are welcome!

Don’t forget to submit your ONE ACT PLAYS

for May 2017. Still a spot available.

At SANDGATE TOWN HALL.....(Main Hall) @ 7PM....... This is where the Committee is elected. We are looking for energetic, motivated and passionate people to join the committee to give some

of our current members a well-deserved break. Plenty of support will be offered. So please think about getting more involved in your local

theatre company. Why not take it to the next level!!!!! Plus it is lots of fun, make new friends.

Sandgate Theatre inc has come a long way in the last couple of years, let’s keep it going.

A XMAS RECIPE

Ingredients 1 box (1 lb 6.25 oz) Betty Crocker™ Supreme original brownie mix. Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box 2 or 3 drops green food color 2/3 cup Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy vanilla frosting (from 16-oz container) Betty Crocker™ Decorating Decors red and green candy sprinkles or miniature candy-coated chocolate baking bits Miniature candy canes (2 inch), unwrappedWatch Video

Directions 1 Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Line 9-inch square pan with foil so foil extends about 2 inches over sides of pan. Grease bottom only of foil with shortening or cooking spray.

2 Make brownie mix as directed on box for 9-inch square pan. Cool completely, about 1 1/2 hours. Remove from pan by lifting foil; peel foil away. To cut brownie into triangles, cut into 3 rows. Cut each row into 5 triangles (See diagram below in Expert Tips). Save smaller pieces for snacking.

3 Stir food color into frosting. Spoon frosting into small resealable food-storage plastic bag; partially seal bag. Cut off tiny bottom corner of bag. Squeeze bag to pipe frosting over brownies. Sprinkle with decors.

4 Break off curved end of candy cane; insert straight piece into bottoms of triangles to make tree trunks.

Who portrayed her character, the vague, cunning, interfering, Maggie Beare very well.

Clever actor Garry MacDonald played Maggies long suffering son Arthur Beare,

and both Ruth and Gary played their characters very professionally and with much talent, skill

and care……………………thank you Bill…
