Working with Infinity Constructions, AGP was responsible for the design, supply and installation of the main glass facade, incorporating 200 x 50mm RHS mullions with glazing adaptors supporting 13.52mm clear laminated glass panels. The lower glazing is 4500mm high with the mullions at 2100mm centres and curved glass was used where the glazing wraps around the corner.

On the other side of the building, similar fixed glazing was installed, along with an AGP Record automatic sliding door for the main entry.

For this 15 metre high glass atrium the design concept was to be as light and minimal as possible, while still providing a secure entrance and appearing to be part of the open space. To achieve this, tensile steel framing, and cabling pulled tight, was used to support the 48 tonnes of toughened laminated glass.

Additional work completed by AGP included the decorative glass inside the atrium, the glazed awnings and balustrades outside and the two stainless steel clad revolving doors at the front entrance.

AGP was responsible for the design, engineering, glazing, steelwork and electrical wiring of these meeting rooms, that were dsign to give the impression of being four melted ice cubes quashed together.

Every one of the 285 panels of glass differs in size and shape, creating boxes oblique in appearance with sloping walls and slanted steel rafters and columns used for support. Low iron glass with a special white interlayer was used in a double glazed situation, to provide reduced sound transmission into the rooms.

The manufacture and installation of a three and a half storey high curved glass wall provides this dealership with a prestigious image and an external street presence by providing passers-by with unobstructed views into the building.

Specially imported toughened laminated glass was used and at 2.8m wide it had to be engineered to meet specific wind and load requirements. Stainless steel beams running from the floor to the ceiling supports the glass through specially designed spider fittings.

As part of this extensive redevelopment, which featured radically new and innovative glass designs, AGP was responsible for the design, supply and installation of the curved glass skylights and curved conventional windows. The roofing panels were pre-glazed at AGP’s factory and delivered to site in ‘ready to install’ sections. This ensured safe and efficient erection of the glazing and resulted in considerable cost savings. Time was a critical factor in the project and this method provided a weatherproof work area to allow other trades to proceed with the internal fitout work much sooner than would normally have been expected.
