Overview

Introduction

Koppal district has been carved out of Raichur district and was initially known as“Kopana Nagara”. It is popular for its temples and key tourist destinations includesAnegundi, Navabrindavana, Kanagiri and Kuknur.Koppal is historically significant with Anegundi being a capital under the Vijayanagaraempire. Koppal was also a part of the Nizam of Hyderabad till independece.
