TRENDS IN AGRICULTURE WORK FORCE IN INDIA 263 million people (54.6%) are

engaged in the agriculture sector and over half of them are now agricultural labourers (Census, 2011)

Total Agricultural Workers expected to decline to 190 million (2022) (expected decline of 33%). (IAMR, 2013)

In Agriculture sector about 18.5% of the workers were skilled in 2009-10 (IAMR), of which Less than 0.5 per cent have formal technical education

Commodities ( NIAM) , Cold Chain (NCCD), Cooperative (NCDC)

Use of Govt Infrastructure for conducting Training as well as TOT Programs Linking with different agriculture bodies through an Advisory Mobilization of already trained workforce/ Officials under various programs of DAC for RPL certification Providing SMEs as Master Trainers for ToT Programs Development of LMIS / Skill Development Plan in Agriculture & Horticulture across the States Providing a list of recent retired officers who can be accessed as Trainers and Assessors by TPs and Assessment

bodies. Advisory to major Players for utilization of CSR Funds for Skilling in Agriculture. Funding for sub sectoral skill gap study under DAC scheme if possible
