Notes on Breakout Groups:
EACH OF THE THREE GROUPS will be required to develop for their group of countries, a framework for a
Caribbean AgroTourism Programme, comprising Actions to be implemented in the short, medium and
long term, based on areas of common interest and/or need, viz:
1. Short-term, immediately implementable projects (low hanging fruit);2. Medium term actions (next 2-3 years) needed at national, sub-regional and/or regional level;3. Long term actions (3-5 year) at national, sub-regional and/or regional level.For each of these levels of action, groups may consider support required with respect to:
Institutional mechanisms (national linkages committees, resource centres, joint ministerial
forums)
Policies in support of Trade along the value chain (domestic markets, intra-regional trade)
Policies in support of Investment in agro and rural based tourism
Human resource development (skills development and capacity building)
Marketing and Promotion and Public Awareness
ICT tools, Information and Communication
Insurance and Risk Management (environment, health, climate change impacts)
Finance and Investment
