The secret of getting ahead is getting started. -Mark Twain
Why Wellness?
WE ARE WHAT WE EAT!
The quality of our health is contingent upon the quality of the building materials going into our bodies.
Our bodies are made up of what we eat and drink.
The body completely regenerates our cells every 7 years
WHY YOUR BODY NEEDS WATER
Helps keep kidneys functioning properly
Eliminates waste
Helps with weight loss
Gives body cells shape, form and elasticity
Carries nutrients and oxygen to all cells
And . . . It Has NO CALORIES!And . . . It Has NO CALORIES!
Women / Men who had a high daily intake of water (5+ glasses) had 41% / 51% fewer heart attacks as those who had low intakes (<2 glasses).
With those who drank other fluids (coffee, soda pop, etc.), they found no protective effects of higher fluid intake.
In fact, those who had the highest fluid intake from other beverages (in place of water) had higher mortality rates, especially in women. - Source: American Journal of Epidemiology 155 (9):827-33, Jan. 2002

A New Study* Says YES!
Can Lifestyle Change Our Genes?
Exercise and Human Growth Hormone
Our production of Human Growth Hormone decreases significantly as we age
EXERCISE promotes our internal production of growth hormone.
• By gradually increasing the intensity or difficulty of exercise we are helping to increase growth hormone production.
Very important to our health:
• Helps keep our body fat low
• Helps us maintain our muscle mass and bone density
• Just as important for women as for men
