  • AIDCHistorical Background, Current State of Things

    According to the intentions announced by FSUE “State ATM Corporation” atCPWG/13 meeting, the branch “North East Air Navigation” has arranged workon the voiceless interaction between Magadan ACC and Anchorage ARTCC onAIDC protocol:

    • The equipment project developed in 2017;• The hardware facilities for AIDC messaging delivered, installed, adjusted and

    started up;• The automated ATC system “Alpha” software updated;• The software and equipment bed tests run locally;• The local tests of the automated Alpha system carried out at ATC working

    places in online mode.

    • The Memorandum of Understanding for operational testing between Magadan ACCand Anchorage ARTCC signed.

    • In accordance with the MOU we have been conducting the operational testing sinceJuly 26, 2018.

    • The draft LOA between Magadan ACC and Anchorage ARTCC which provides for thecoordination procedures on AIDC protocol is prepared and agreed upon.

    • The normal mode of operation of the voiceless interaction between Magadan ACCand Anchorage ARTCC on AIDC protocol is planned to be started on June 30, 2020.

    • The message exchange results for the period of May 01, 2019 – October 01, 2019are the following:

    • Anchorage → Magadan - 97,06%• Magadan → Anchorage - 98,99 %

  • Implementation Plan

    In the course of operational testing we are identifying the possibleerrors and are eliminating their causes. The software is quickly modifiedin Magadan ACC when necessary. These measures has already helpeddecrease significantly the number of errors during the AIDCcoordination.

    In fact, the operational testing of the voiceless AIDC interaction hasalready allowed reducing the air traffic coordination workload for ATC.The AIDC implementation will allow enhancing the airspace capacity ofthe Magadan ACC sectors.
