PROJECT  INTRODUCTION   As the world first populated country, though developing very fast in economic and business field, China still enjoy huge problems in education resulting in the imbalanced education resources distribution. Founded in 2008, Dare to Dream was initiated to improve the educational resources balance between rural areas and urban areas, aiming at providing opportunities for teenagers in rural middle schools to know the outer world better and be bold to chase their dreams, by hosting summer camps and winter camps with young people from all over the world. Dare to Dream is the largest national project of AIESEC in Mainland of China. In 2013-2014, 26 LCs hosted Dare to Dream summer camps or winter camps, with more than 840 trainees, impacting more than 9000 rural teenagers annually. Volunteers will design courses regarding cultural understanding, leadership empowerment, social issues, English study and self-discovery.

TRAINEE FEEDBACKS

“I  knew  that  embarking  on  this  trip  will  give  me  some  knowledge  about  who  i  am,  what  am  i  capable   of   and   how   to   improve  myself,   but   I   never   knew   that   this  was   gonna   be   such   an  emo6onal  and  life-‐changing  experience.  We  have  an  immense  bond  among  us,  EPs  and  OCs,  but  also  with  the  kids  we  worked  with,  we  stayed  in  touch  with  them  ever  since.  Definetely  this   will   bring   me   back   to   China   once   again,   but   more   over,   this   opened   doors   for   me  throughout  the  whole  world.  I've  made  so  many  friends  that  it  will  take  me  about  two  years  to  visit  them  all  properly.  Program's  name  was  Dare  to  Dream  3.0,  and  sure  when  I  got  back  home,  it  all  seemed  like  dream.  Best  6me  of  my  life.”

“I   want   to   thank   with   all   my   heart   AIESEC,   Qingdao   OC   team   for   great   experience,   vivid  emo6ons,   homely   and   invi6ng   atmosphere.   They   were   responsible   to   their   work   and   did  their  best  to  make  us  (i  mean,  EP)  feel  comfortable.  I  think,  they  are  the  best  OC  team  of  the  best,   lol.   And   a   host   family   was   very   kind,   hospitable   and   responsive.   My   lovely   Chinese  family.(one  more  BIG  plus  to  OC  team`s  work)What  else...  I  was  pleasantly  surprised  by  the  aYtude  of  the  Chinese  to  foreigners.  They  were  very  responsive,  polite  and  tried  to  help  as  best  they  could.  In  the  end,  I  would  like  to  commend  the  work  of  buddies.  They  helped  and  supported   me   so   much   that   I   wasn't   even   nervous.   OC   team   chosen   amazing   people   for  buddy  work.”

“This   is  definitely   the  best  abroad  experience  that  ever  happened   in  my   life!   I  can  tell   that  the   AIESEC   JLU   OC   team   and   the   local   volunteers   really   did   a   good   job   on   arranging   this  project.  And  I  think  alloca6ng  Chinese  volunteers  to  be  EP  buddies  is  really  a  good  way  to  let  EPs   get  more  used   to  Chinese   culture.  However,   there   are   two  points   that   I  would   like   to  suggest,  first  of  all,  is  that  I  think  the  finalized  6meline  should  be  officially  informed,  or  to  say  that,  could  seble   the  finalized  6meline  earlier.  Although  all  EPs  had  received  the  recep6on  booklet  including  6meline  before  our  arrival,  but  there  were  several  changes  in  6meline  acer  we  arrived  Beijing.  Another  point  is  that,  I  suggest  to  post  the  important  message  by  email,  individual   message,   or   any   place   that   we   can   easily   check   or   be   informed.   I   really   don't  recommend  to  post  important  message  in  the  chatroom  (ex:  wechat  chatroom)  because  the  chatroom  may  be  usually  crowded  and  full  of  messages,  it  is  possible  for  people  to  ignore  or  miss  out  important  message,  if  people  do  not  check  every  single  message  at  any  6me.”

TRAINEE FEEDBACKS

“My   AIESEC   internship   in   Beijing   was   a   life6me   experience   which   I   will   be   treasuring   along   with   my  memories  and  friendships.  It  was  a  unique  opportunity  to  experience  a  completely  different  culture  than  my  own,  which  was  challenging  and  extremely  rewarding.  It  also  made  me  re-‐evaluate  many  things  in  my  life.  The  hos6ng  commibee  was  very  welcoming,  they  devoted  much  of  their  6me  with  us  and  I  would  like  to  men6on  that  on  many  occasions  they  spent  money  from  their  own  budget  in  order  to  be  by  our  side  during   these  7  weeks.   They  also  devoted  much  6me   fulfilling   the  much  necessary   transla6on  and  interpreta6on  tasks,  I  wholeheartedly  thank  them  all.  The  accommoda6on  was  excellent,  during  the  first  five  weeks  we  lived  in  an  apartment  far  beber  than  the  original  expecta6on,  then  we  all  had  to  move  into  hos6ng  families  where  we  were  all  welcomed  and  taken  care  of  beyond  belief.  Leaving  them  behind  was  sorrowful  to  say  the  least.  I  would  also  want  to  men6on  that  all  of  my  nine  flatmates  were  extraordinary,  the   combina6on   of   people   and   personali6es  was   unmatched,   I   feel   like   I   have   a  member   of  my   own  family  in  each  of  those  countries.  My  tasks  regarding  my  job  there  were  various  due  to  the  mul6faceted  nature  of  the  project.   I  came  in  touch  with  several  people  from  various  backgrounds   in  China  and  they  contributed  to  me  being  a  different  and  hopefully  beber  person.  I  will  be  missing  the  children  in  the  NGO  I   spent  6me   to,   and  every   single   individual   I  met  during  my  6me   in   this   ins6tu6on.  They  gave  me   the  mo6ve  to  try  harder  and  develop  a  beber  understanding  for  the  weaker  and  less  privileged  members  of  our  society,  for  this  I  will  be  always  grateful.  No  doubt  I   lec  a  piece  of  me  behind  in  China,  and  I  thank  both  AIESEC  and  each  person  I  met  there  that  transformed  this  Summer  in  one  of  the  most  meaningful  experiences  of  my  life.”

GREEN POWER NOW

PROJECT  INTRODUCTION   Green Power Now was founded in 2008, aimed at providing global view for youth and raising their awareness about energy issues in China through AIESEC international exchange platform, by cooperating with schools, corporates, NGOs and bringing in international volunteers to offer courses related to green power and help the students become future leaders in Green field with strong social responsibility. The program aims to educate the future generation about the environment and empower them to become environmental and social leaders of their community. Green Power Now is one of the most impactful national project in AIESEC Mainland of China. In 2013-2014, we impacted 11 cities,14 LCs, 160 trainees, more than 100 high schools by providing green courses and campus green activities. What’s more, for the past several years we have involved Garnier, Disney, Momentum as Corporate Social Responsibility Partner, cooperated with Marinedream Foundation, Greennovate as national learning partner and organized annual Green Leadership Forum as the closing for the project for greater social impact and youth engagement.

Green Power Now is designed according to a sustainable and smart project business model to make sure its impact will last from generation to generation. AIESEC raised schools to the project, who received 6-week green project courses while these high school students are the potential future AIESECers. The international trainees are trained as school facilitators by national NGO partner for better professional knowledge on sustainability, and they will work as a group to co-create environmental protection courses to spread out issue based knowledge on sustainability. CSR partners sponsored the project and attended project events as judges or speakers, while AIESEC provided them with a CSR solution to establish better corporate branding and bigger social impact.

MY STORY OF GREEN POWER NOW

“Green   Power   Now   is   my   most   proud   of  experience   in   AIESEC.In2010-‐2011,AIESEC   HUST  Green  Power  Project  Team, together  with  15  chinese  volunteers   and   14   internaLonal   interns,Give   80  sessions   about   sustainability   and   environment  protecLon   for   more   than   2500   students   from   20  different  schools  in  Wuhan  and  Nanchang.we  hled  a  wonderful  acLonand  made  some  differences  for  our  society.“Green   Power   Now,Yes,we   can”,   As   our  slogan  of  the  expression,  We  believe  that  we  as  the  future   leaders  of   this   society   should  dare   to  dream  about   a   sustainable   future   by   taking   our   own  acLons  to  protect  it.”

“I  think  what  this  project  really  provided  is  a  period  of  experience.  Before  I  parLcipated  in  the  project   team,   I   already   knew   some   knowledge   of   environmental   protecLon   and   energy   saving,   but  why?  Why  should  we  take  acLon  since  it’s  so  troublesome  to  turn  off  the  light  every  Lme  I  le\  the  room  or   pick   the   environmental   friendly   products?   The   trainers   from  AIESEC  and  Disney   really   inspired  me  and  my  classmate  to  take  the  first  step  trying  to  make  some  impact  towards  a  sustainable  future  and  helped  me  to  recognize  that  doing  a  green  project  can  be  so  much  fun  and  exciLng!”

PROJECT  INTRODUCTION               The  public  welfare   industry   in  China   is  developing   faster   than  never  before.  Under   this  trend,   there   are   so   many   NGOs   and   public   welfare   ins6tu6ons   thronging   day   by   day.  Nonetheless,  seldom  do  public  know  about  these  organiza6ons  and  the  vulnerable  groups.                    AIESEC  as  a  global  youth  organiza6on,  we  have  our  uniqueness  in  contribu6ng  to  improving  the  current  situa6on,  and  Special  Care  was   ini6ated.  By  now  there  are  9  LCs  run  Special  Care  projects,   mainly   focusing   on   helping   au6sm   children,   hearing   impaired   children   and   other  physically  and  mentally  disadvantaged  children.                    By  par6cipa6ng  in  daily  works  in  such  ins6tu6ons,  trainees  will  gain  more  knowledge  about  these   special   groups,   and   they   are   supposed   to   host   public   events,   such   as   fund   raising   or  experience  sharing  ac6vi6es,  to  raise  public  awareness  towards  the  special  groups.  Besides,  we  are   also   connec6on   CSR   resources   to   the   ins6tu6ons   in   need.   The   long-‐term   vision   is   that  AIESEC  could  be  a  bridge  between  the  ins6tu6ons  and  social  resources,  engaging  trainees  with  professional   knowledge,   to   make   the   society   care   more   about   the   vulnerable   groups   and  improve  the  professionalism  of  the  ins6tu6ons.
