Aim Command System
• Rate controller• Uses pulse width modulation
through a pulsating electric solenoid
• Pulse cycles are controlled by ground speed and the master rate controller.
• A) Low flow rate =Solenoid cycles off for longer periods of time
• B) High Flow rate = Cycles on for longer periods
• C) Medium Rate = Cycles are even

Advantages of Aim Command
• Constant product pump pressure
• On the go rate change
• Independently holds target rate constant compared to the ground speed.
• Target rate can be achieved while boom pressures are changed.
• Increases Drift Control• Can lower pressure to
produce larger droplet size without changing gal/acre
• Chemical Savings • Accurate flow and direct
placement

Disadvantage of Aim Command• Cost is the major disadvantage
• For 100 foot boom, the option was $27,000
• Maximum of 20 gallons/acre• Anything over 20 the
conventional rate controller must be used
• Maintenance • Cleaning of filter/screens
foreign particles can not interfere with the pulsating
• Solenoid replacement $100 to $145 to replace
• Electric Wires on every nozzle body

Direct Chemical Injection
![Page 6: Aim Command System & Direct Chemical Injection](https://reader036.vdocuments.net/reader036/viewer/2022062323/56816196550346895dd140a4/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Advantages of Chemical Injection• Less pesticide exposure to applicator
• Accurate measuring and mixing of pesticides
• Eliminates having excess chemicals in carrier tank after finishing a field
• Allows for fast and easy clean out
• Can switch to multiple chemicals without having to clean sprayer which causes down time. Also decreases cross contamination
• Ability to have VRT technology while applying pesticides

Cost of Direct Injections
• Single 24 gallon tank with Raven Sidekick
• $5,900• Advanced systems with
multiple tanks and pesticides can get costly
• Return on investment could be achieved within a half a year depending on the amount of acres sprayed
• This is due to the amount of savings of chemicals
• Decrease in chemical exposure
• Decease in amount of cleanout time

The Importance of Direct Injection & Aim Command During Variable Rate Application
• Accurate on the go carrier flow rate change
• On the go pesticide concentration rate adjustment
• Precise mixing
• Direct placement of chemical
