Aim & Objectives of Women empowerment cell
The Women empowerment cell of KVR Govt. College, right from its inception has been
conducting a wide spectrum of activities such as Seminars, talks, awareness meets, rallies,
week celebrations, medical camps, exhibitions, interactive sessions, Film screenings etc. to
create an environment of motivation to the students to become a strong and self sustained
younger generation which leads in turn to the progress of female empowerment. It connects
the students with women activists, lawyers, judges, educationists, Doctors, prominent
alumnae, executives and experts from various walks of life to exchange the ideas, views,
opportunities that can mold their lives in successful way.
Many programmes are conducted to sensitize the students on Gender discrimination, Gender
equality, regeneration roadmap and the positive outcomes of Women empowerment.
Kasireddy Venkatareddy Govt. College for women, Kurnool has been associated with ASMITA
resource center since 16-07-2010. Our College has arrived a Memorandum of Understanding
with ASMITA Resource center for women, Secunderabad to conduct certificate courses in
Gender and Human Rights every year and to conduct awareness programmes on Gender
issues such as Yuvathi Chaitanya Mela, Workshops etc.

Highlights of Women Empowement Cell
The K.V.R. Govt. College Women Empowerment Cell has received the “Best Women
Empowerment Cell by CCE in the year 2012’’
The Women Empowerment Cell has procured a Book Repository and CD Repository from
ASMITA
1.Book Repository from ASMITA - Nearly 210 books were donated by ASMITA group on
Gender discrimination, suppression of Rights, Injustice facing by women down the years and
the means of attaining empowerment.
ASMITA Resource Center has donated 100 books for the Book Repository scheme of College
Women empowerment cell 16-07-2010 and 110 titles were added to the repository on 08-08-
2011. The repository is being organized by central Library. A special exhibition with t he books
was arranged to make the students to know the availability of them within the Library.

2. CD Repository& Films
ASMITA Resource Center for women has also donated some films with the themes related to
the Gender discrimination, Gender rights, contemporary social evils, threats towards women
community. The college Film club – SPRUHA screens the films to educate the student
community and to train them to have a outlook and to become self sustained.

certificate course on Human and Gender rights was arranged form19-01-2014 to 21-01-2014,

The WEC has planned to conduct the following activities this year.
1. This year Women Empowerment Cell planned to conduct a motivational programme

2. Women Empowerment cell has submitted a proposal for conducting National seminar on the topic Historical & Sociological dimensions of the issue of Women
Empowerment: A Conceptual frame work.
3. A field trip is planned and arranged to interact with the active members of Mhila
Podupu Sangham, Orvakal.
