The Edison Center The Edison Center celebrated its 1 year anniversary in 2016. During its first year of operation the new location has established itself as an important part of the AIMS Education system. Nearly 50% of all students enrolled at AIMS in 2016 attended classes in Edison. This included students enrolled in the Phlebotomy, EKG/Phlebotomy, Medical Billing & Coding, Medical Insurance & Health Records, Pharmacy Tech, Medical Assistant, and MRI programs. We anticipate the number of students attending class in Edison to grow even further over the next few years. As the new location has grown and established itself, so has the staff. In 2016, AIMS Education hired Elizabeth Lopez to join Edison Center director, Barry Ferguson, and school administrator, Priyanka Patel. The administrative staff and all of the instructors in Edison have done an exceptional job helping the Edison Center become what it is today. We look forward to another successful year in 2017. We reached new milestones with our enrollment numbers and saw excellent growth in our program outcomes, particularly job placement. The primary reason our students seek an education is to improve their career prospects. As an institute of higher education, it is our responsibility to provide them with the tools they require to reach their goals. By continuing to hire experienced and qualified healthcare instructors, and forming affiliations with major teaching hospitals, we are ensuring that our graduates are well-prepared to enter the workforce in 2017 and beyond. In closing, I wish to thank my fellow board members and our administration and faculty, whose valuable contributions and dedication have allowed AIMS to achieve the success we currently enjoy. As we look forward to 2017, it is my hope that our current and future students will find their education at AIMS both gratifying and rewarding. 2016 was another year of continued growth and prosperity for AIMS Education. We reached new milestones with our enrollment numbers and saw excellent growth in our program outcomes, particularly job placement. The highlight of the year, however, was achieving programmatic accreditation for the Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program from CAAHEP.

Each year AIMS continues moving toward its goal of becoming the premier allied health institute in New Jersey. ClinicalInternshipNews

The clinical internship portion is the last phase of the student's program and could be considered the most important one. This is where the student takes all of what they learned in the classroom and applies it to their hands-on training at the clinical site. We provide our students with a comprehensive learning experience, not only in the classroom, but at the clinical site.

Our clinical affiliations have been named as some of the best healthcare facilities throughout New Jersey and the surrounding states.

The clinical facilities includes doctor's offices, major diagnostic centers, hospitals and hospital systems. AIMS Education has also added more hospitals and several healthcare systems to our clinical affiliations' list for education programs in 2016.

Some of them are:

Prime Healthcare Services, LLC (St. Clare's in Denville, St. Mary's in Passaic and St. Michael's in Newark, NJ) Hackensack Meridian Health, Inc. (all 7 hospitals in their health system) Staten Island University Hospital (South) in Staten Island, NY Barnabas Health System (Jersey City Medical Center, Community Medical Center in Toms River and Monmouth Medical Center South in Lakewood, NJ) The New York and Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY Holy Name Medical Center, Inc., in Teaneck, NJ University Hospital in Newark, NJ Aria Health c/o Frankford Campus in Philadelphia, PA Jeanes Hospital (member of Temple Health Systems) in Philadelphia, PA

In 2017, we plan to take this valuable feedback and in turn, offer our students training in the most up-to-date technologies. We also plan to advance our educational programs in order to provide a quality education in order to have our graduates be better prepared for a career in the healthcare field. Obviously adding more clinical affiliates is ongoing task. Aims is hoping to be affiliated with all major teaching clinics and hospitals around tri-states area.

CareerServicesNewsIn the last year the Career Services Department brought on an additional member to assist in job placement and career development.

During the past year we've seen an increase in students getting hired directly from their clinical internship sites as well as the direct help of the career service administrators.

The Career Services Department continually expresses the need for communication once all of our graduates complete their program. We have also implemented “Workshop Wednesdays”, where once a month the department holds a career related workshop open to all of our students. We just held one on interviewing on December 14, 2016.

The department also holds orientation for each class prior to starting their clinical internship rotation/completing their program. During that time, students are provided guidance in everything from building a proper resume to conducting an effective job search. The importance of LinkedIn is also emphasized during the orientation; we encourage all of our students to build a LinkedIn profile prior to graduation.

We are happy to say that we have seen a very large increase in percentage for our Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and its placement for our graduates to 79% from last year's 45%.

AIMS held its Spring Career Fair, May 10, 2016. Eleven participating healthcare companies were in attendance. AIMS will be holding its next career fair January 2017.

MotivatedStudentBody Since our launch in February 2015– NTHS has seen a huge increase of its members. We have over 200 students both graduates and current who are part of this society. National Technical Honor Society

NTHS requires all students to maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher to be a member. This helps motivate our students to strive for academic excellence at AIMS.
