#Started in 2003 with two leased AIRBUS 320 jets.#Sharjah-based airline.#UAE’s third airline.#Established a position in the regional LOW-COST MARKET in a short span of time.
Adel Abdullah Ali,CEO,Air Arabia group pointed out clearly in 2013 that the company would always cater to the low cost market.
Air Arabia targets the 85% of the potential regional customers who cannot afford normal flying charges.
It is the first and the largest LCC (Low Cost carrier ) in Middle-east and North Africa.
How was Air Arabia different from its competitors?
Air Arabia utilized cost-cutting practices characteristic of other LCC’s and thus delivered lower fares to consumers.
How did they become so successful in a little over a decade?
1.Careful choice of the aircraft –AIRBUS 320 combined comfort and efficiency.2.Larger cabin space and wide aisle.3.Best legroom and a generous seat width.4.Using a universal aircraft , training rates were substantially lowered.
Air Arabia currently owns 39 Airbus 320s with a current order of 44.The Arab Spring between 2010 and 2012 did not affect the aircraft requirement in the middle east.
