All cadets are required to attend Field Training, a 13-day summer course, usually completed between sophomore and junior year. Field Training is a physically and mentally challenging series of group projects, fitness activities, and leadership exercises.

What is AFROTC?Air Force ROTC is a college program that allows you to earn your degree while training to become an Air Force officer. It includes: - Challenges and benefits beyond the normal college experience- Building leadership, management, character, and personal growth- Completing all program requirements leads to a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force

Get Involved at Det 330

Is an organization that focuses primarily on the perfection of drill through the presentation of colors at special events such as Maryland basketball and football games, armed drill team performances, competitions, cordons, and many other things. Arnold Air Society (AAS)

Is a national AFROTC and USAFA professional honorary service organization with the purpose of developing future quality leaders for the Air Force, advocating the support of aerospace power, and actively engaging in community service at the local, regional, and national level. Detachment 330 was the #1 Large AAS Squadron in the nation 2015-2016.

Project Global Officer (GO) Promotes critical language education domestically and abroad. The program provides intercultural dialogue opportunities around the world to ROTC students by offering scholarships. For more information on Project GO: rotcprojectgo.org

Pilot Training Program Det 330 is one of the elite few Air Force ROTC units in the nation with its own pilot training program. Cadets are offered discounted flight training through the Navy Annapolis Flight Center at one of two locations: Lee Airport in Edgewater, MD, or St. Mary’s Airport in California, MD. Flying time is a key training component for aspiring Air Force aviators.

How Does AFROTC Work?

General Military Course (GMC)- Underclassmen- LLAB (ARSC 059): Introductory training- Expectations and intensity increase with

time- ARSC 100 & 200 - 1 credit courses on Air

Force history and military knowledgeProfessional Officer Course (POC)

- Upperclassmen- LLAB: Leadership experience and career

training; training and teaching GMC cadets- Leadership roles and responsibility

increase- ARSC 300 & 400 - 3 credit courses on

leadership, management, and national security policy

General RequirementsIn order to participate in Air Force ROTC, you must be a full time student at a participating school (see the back of this pamphlet). In order to complete the program you will need to:- Be physically and medically qualified- Be of good moral character- Be in good academic standing- Pass the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT)- Complete Field Training (13-day summer course)- Min 2.0 Cumulative GPA for transfer - students

These are minimums - exceptional cadets go above and beyond!

ScholarshipsScholarships may be offered that pay up to full tuition, fees, and textbooks. In addition, contracted cadets will receive a monthly stipend.

College Students - Qualified students enrolled in the AFROTC program are eligible to compete for scholarships after their first semester if they meet the requirements. Selection is based on GPA, physical fitness, standardized test scores, and overall performance as a cadet.
