Overall, 97% of responding principals were satisfied or very satisfied with the overall preparation of new teachers.

Overall, 100% of responding superintendents were satisfied or very satisfied with the overall preparation of new instructional support personnel.

The Report Card Overall, 96% of responding recent

graduates expressed they were satisfied or very satisfied with their preparation for teaching.

Average cost per student of teacher preparation programs is $3,053.

The Report CardNew Teachers Surveyed While 96% were satisfied with their

overall preparation: 16% were unsatisfied or very unsatisfied

with their preparation to improve reading comprehension.

21% were unsatisfied or very unsatisfied with their preparation to recognize exceptional/special needs students.

25% were unsatisfied or very unsatisfied with their preparation to work with exceptional/special needs students

The Report Card

Local Principals Surveyed While 97% were satisfied with the

overall preparation of new teachers: 8% were unsatisfied or very unsatisfied

with new teachers’ preparation to improve reading comprehension.

7% were unsatisfied or very unsatisfied with teachers use of technology to improve instruction.

Changes Coming In 2004 The report card issued in 2004 will

include information about programs preparing other professional education personnel. For Example:
