LOCAL CLUBS In October I mailed a questionnaire to every local

specialty club requesting the name of the current Presidentand a mailing address and name for the current Secretary.This mailing was sent to the Secretary's listed on ALAC's 1986Local Club roster. This roster was the most recent list I had.

This letter also explained the Local Club AdvisoryCouncil which was established at the June 2, 1987 ALACBoard Meeting that would consist of a member elected byevery local club to receive all ALAC information and tochannel information and concerns back to the ALAC Board. Inaddition, the letter requested the name and address of theLocal Club Representative.

If your local club has not received my letter, pleasecontact me so that I can mail you another copy.

LHASA INQUIRIES I have been receiving MANY inquiries from interested

Lhasa people. These inquirers are sent:1. A listing by zip code of ALAC members in theirarea.2. A reading list which includes all Lhasa magazines,books, etc.3. An ALAC membership application.4. A listing of local clubs.

COMMENTS FROM YOUR EDITOR:

In case anyone is keeping track, this is

the 5th issue of the Bulletin to be mailed

out in 1987. The Bulletin was so far behind

schedule when I took over as editor that each

quarterly issue was over a full season behind

schedule. Gradually I have moved up the

deadline dates so that finally,., it is fall,

and this is the Fall Issue!

I must apologize and make a correction

on the results of the ALAC 1987 Eastern

Futurity. The Grand Futurity Winner was

Northwind-Mardel Chia Mouse, owned by Cindy

Butsic and Mary Ann Strysick. I am Truly

sorry for this error.If you haven't seen the AKC Video on Lhasa

Apsos, you should make every effort to see it

as soon as possible. I have seen it, and would

like to congratulate Stephen Campbell and his

committee on a wonderful job. The tape is

available in either VHS or BETA, for $35.00.

The Futurity Is an annual event sponsored by the American Lhasa Apso Club, Inc. to encourage the exhibition

of recently whelped Lhasa Apsos.

FUTURITY ELIGIBILITY; Nomination of the litter must be made within ninety days of whelp. Nomination

forms are available from the club secretary or the Futurity Chairman. By nomination of the Utter, all dogs in

that litter are eligible to enter the Funnly irrespective of subsequent ownership change.

All dogs entered in the Futurity MUST ENTER AND COMPETE in one or more of the regular classesof the show-giving club.The entry In the Regular Classes and the Futurity Class MUST be made en the entry blank of theshow-giving club.The entry blank must be marked in the "ADDITIONAL CLASP section with the work "Futurity', andthe assigned litter nomination number.The entry lee /or the Additional Futurity Clan must accompany each entry to the show-givingSuperintendent and/or Show Secretary.

OTHER; There are NO AKC Championship Points awarded in the Futurity.All dogs MUST be handled by the Breeder, Owner, a member of his household or an AmateurSubstitute.NO REFUNDS will be made in the event of default by the person making the entries.

Futurity Hosts and Tudgest Applications for Host Committees to act as Show Committees for

tads of the Futurities will be solicited annually from the membership. The Board of Directors

of the American Lhasa Apse Club, Inc., by a majority vote, will select the Host Committees

from the applications with primary consideration given to Specialty Clubs and Club Members.The Host Committee selects the site and the date of each Regional Futurity. The Futuritymay be either a separate event or held in conjunction with an American Kennel Club approved

point show at the election of the Host Committee.

Tudges will be nominated by the membership of the American Lhasa Apse Club, Inc. andelection of judges for each region will be by written ballot by the entire membership of theAmerican Lhasa Apse Club, Inc. Those candidates who are second in the balloting shall bedesignated Alternate ludges should the nest be unable to judge.
