Jota A rainy Saturday put off the scout groups scheduled to attend BP Park, however a number of scouts were camping on site as well as day visitors so the radios were put to good use.  The HF bands up to 10m were open as well as 2m Echolink. The 6 element HF beam needs to be worked on in the next few months to prepare for a busy year. The BP camp is planned to be radio active a number of times in 2018 leading up to Rovers 100 year anniversary Jota in October.  Alan VK4NA    

Morse Trainer Dave Finley gave a suggested order for learning the letters and figures and recommended a programme called Super Morse to use as a trainer. I quickly realised that Super Morse offered more features than were required to learn Morse by the Koch method and decided to write my own programme orientated towards the Koch method. http://www.g4fon.net/CW%20Trainer.htm 

 

COMMON MODE CURRENT CHOKE Unwanted RF in the shack, due to Common Mode Current (CMC) on the coax can be nasty.
