Increased lifting height and higher operating wind speeds

The K1650L can lift wind turbine components higher than other cranes widely used in the industry.

Further, the operational and out of service wind speed is higher than those cranes, meaning schedules are less dependent on weather conditions.

Easier relocation

Relocation schedule is improved as the crane has a low counterweight and does not have superlift.

Increased visibility

The crane operator sits 110m above ground, providing a better visual on the critical stages of the lift.

Cost-effective shipping

With a heaviest component of just 35t and a lower counterweight than standard cranes, the K1650L can be a more cost-effective solution to ship and transport globally.

Quick assembly and disassembly

The K1650L can be quickly rigged and de-rigged using a hydraulic climber, and partial rigging is possible on roads of 5m width to speed rotation time and reduce road construction costs.

Components are relatively small, reducing the cost of supplementary equipment.

Reduced civil works and reinstatement

The compactness of the K1650L means the size of hardstand can be reduced by more than 50% in comparison with other cranes widely used in the wind industry, allowing the potential for cost and time savings in civil works and reduction in environmental impact.

More efficient than mobile and crawler cranes

• The K1650L is a pedestal crane, which reduces ground loading requirements and associated costs in comparison with crawler cranes.

• Pyramid foot cylinders allow the crane to accommodate uneven hardstands as opposed to the flat hardstands typically required by crawler cranes.

• Minimum lifting radius is around half that of some mobile cranes, allowing an additional saving in hardstand of up to 15m.

Cost and time savings in the wind sector The Innovative K1650L Crane has lifting capabilities like no other free-standing tower crane on the wind energy market, with an increased lifting height and the ability to work at high wind speeds and with uneven or small hardstands.

The short 70m boom means the area to boom up and down can be significantly shortened when compared to any equivalent lattice boom crane. This, together with the very short minimum boom radius, allows the hardstand to be reduced.

The low counterweight, increased visibility and quick assembly functionality optimises overall project efficiency.
