CLINICAL ACTIVITIES
Intern /student physician at the II Institute of Clinical Surgery, VI University
Department of Surgical Semiotics. During his internship he participated in all the ward-
based, operating-theater, day hospital and laboratory activities. He also carried out
experimental research first of all in the Institute’s laboratories, then at ENEA-Casaccia
where he conducted experiments relating to gastric cyto-protection and stress-related
ulcers.

Clinical and experimental research on Gastric physiopathology, Gastrointestinal
hormones, Physiopathology of stress-related ulcers, Endogenous prostaglandins and
Gastric cytoprotection. Therapeutic action of anti-secretory drugs and synthetic analogs
of prostaglandins, somatostatin, experimental gastric carcinogenesis (1982-1985 at
ENEA research center in Rome), aesophago-gastric reflux disease, pathological obesity
(1984- at Sapienza University, Rome).
