Alien Life Form
Problem: Why do the aliens change their shape when you change the amount of water, sunlight,
and climate?
Independent Variable: The amount of water, sunlight, and the temperature
Dependent Variable: The amount of thin, medium, and thick aliens.
Control: Testing the aliens on the setting that is there when you open the gizmo.
Constants: The aliens being tested.
Hypothesis: If we make the climate, sunlight, and water half, half, and half, then the aliens will change to fit that environment.
Materials: Computer Pencil
Procedure:1) Put the water on 11.2) Put the sunlight on 13.3) Put the climate/temperature to 16 degrees.4) Press play and record what happens.
Observations: 33-thin 39-medium 28-thick
Conclusion: My hypothesis, If we change the climate, sunlight, and water, then the aliens will change to fit that environment, is accepted. When I put the water to 11, sunlight to 13 and climate on 16 the aliens did change to fit that environment. Water originally had 10, sunlight had 12, and temperature was at 25 degrees. The aliens had 74 thin, 19 medium, and 7 thick. But when I changed it there was over a 20 alien difference on all of the types!
Reflection: The results are somewhat valid. The validity can be strengthened by doing 3 trials instead of 1. I think it would be cool to test this on real aliens from like Mars and

other planets. I wonder if it would work with bears because they hibernate in the cold and collect food in the warm?
