“Before the Flood”

Inspired by Pope Francis’ 2015 Encyclical on Climate Change and Inequality: On Care for our

Common Home, St. Mary’s Franciscan Response to Fracking and Advocates for Justice are happy to present this action-oriented 4-week program.

It begins with a feature film on March 14, to be discussed the following week. Empowering ways to confront the obstacles to healthy air, food and water are introduced in a group process which leads to planning group action in the fourth week.

The NY Times calls Pope Francis’ encyclical “an urgent call to action.”

Maybe this is your year to get involved!

Please contact [email protected] to register or for more information.

Christmas Flower Donations

Dear Friends,

The annual celebration of Catholic Schools Week begins on January 29, 2017. The St. Mary’s School

Community has prepared for this very special week. The theme this year: Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service focuses on the key components of Catholic education: faith development, academic excellence and dedication to service.

Each day our students are immersed in a faith-filled environment. Our students attend weekly Liturgy, and their Spiritual development is an integral part of daily student life.

Our dedicated staff and supportive families continue to strive for academic excellence. St. Mary’s School is proud to be one of the few fully integrated STEM schools in the area. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) is a rigorous academic concept coupled with real-life lessons which infuses 21st century skills into core subjects.

Our students are encouraged and invited to participate in many service projects to help the community. The St. Mary’s School annual theme, which mirrors the Parish theme, is Pray, Serve, Give-Do Good Works Each Day. Our mission is to graduate students who are generous, responsible members of society.

We are excited to have the opportunity during Catholic Schools Week to share what our students are learning. Please join us for our Open House on Sunday, January 29, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

On behalf of the entire St. Mary’s School family, I offer you heartfelt thanks for your support. With our concerted efforts, commitment and dedication, our students continue to learn in a culture of faith, academics and service.Sincerely,Carol La Salle, Principal

DOMINGO 22 DE ENERO 2017- TERCER DOMINGO ORDINARIOWhen Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew to Galilee. He left Nazareth and went to live in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali, that what had been said through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled: Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the way to the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light, on those dwelling in a land overshadowed by death light has arisen. From that time on, Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Mateo 4:12-17
