It’s hard to believe that since launching the ALL IN Challenge in 2016, it has grown to more than 560 campuses across the United States, representing more than 6.2 million students. These institu-tions believe, like we do, that more young people need to partici-pate in the electoral process. They have all made a commitment to increasing student democratic engagement - civic learning, political engagement, and voter participation - in order to help students form the habits of active and informed citizenship and make democratic participation a core value. Together, they are cultivating generations of engaged citizens who are essential to a healthy democracy.
Thank you for joining us to celebrate the achievements of the dedicated individuals and institutions across the country who are working tirelessly to strengthen our democracy. While we have made impressive strides in the last three years, we know there is still more work to be done. With your continued support, and the commitment of our peers throughout higher education, we envision a day when we all will be ALL IN for democracy.

MAYA PATEL Moderator
Maya Patel is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin where she studies chemistry and public policy. She has served as the President of TX Votes and under her leadership TX Votes developed their in-class voter registration program, created their STEM committee, organized numerous events, and grew their Civic Engagement Alliance to over 110 student organizations. Her work has led to 18-25-year-olds being the largest bloc of registered voters in Travis County, UT's largest library serving as UT’s second on-campus polling loca-tion, UT Austin receiving numerous national awards for their civic engagement programs, and a bill being filed in the Texas legislature to place polling locations on large college campuses. Maya also serves as the Chair of Campus Vote Project's Student Advisory Board and also recently started as the Texas State Coordinator. Maya is excited to continue her work across Texas and also as an MTV Leader for Change.

JIM ACOSTAJim Acosta is CNN’s Chief White House correspondent, currently covering the Trump administration. He previ-ously covered the Obama administration. He regularly covers presidential press conferences, visits by heads of states, and issues impacting the Executive Branch of the federal government. In addition, Acosta reported from the 2016 campaign trail following then Republican presi-dential candidate Donald Trump. Before joining CNN in 2007, Acosta was a CBS News correspondent where he contributed primarily to the CBS Evening News. Prior to that, he was a correspondent for CBS Newspath, the network's 24-hour news service, and served as a reporter and/or substitute anchor for local television stations in Chicago, Dallas, and Knoxville, Tenn. He began his journalism career with WMAL-AM radio in Washington. Acosta graduated cum laude from James Madison University with a bachelor's degree in mass communica-tions and a minor in political science.

Robert Samuels is a political enterprise writer at The Washington Post. He travels the country to chronicle how issues, ideas and policies in the Washington bubble are playing out in the lives of real Americans. Samuels joined The Post in 2011 after spending nearly five years working at the Miami Herald. At the Herald, he covered politics, poverty, murder and mayhem. Samuels occasionally writes essays on race for The Post and is the newsroom’s figure skating guru. Samu-els grew up in the Bronx and is an alumnus of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where he is the only student to have ever served as both editor in chief of the school newspaper, the Daily North-western, and its black student magazine.
