Tooling
Moulds:
--purchasing from toolmakers worldwide
(depends on complexity, accuracy, quantities, price, etc.)
-- mould transfer
In-House tool shop:
Maintenance and (small) repairs on existing moulds
Time to market:
important advantage if project is that alterations and improvements, fast and efficient will be executed after the
results from the first mould trial.
Storage:
All moulds will be stored in our in-house fire-free mould warehouse.
Injection Moulding
INJECTION MOULDING
- 39 injection moulding machines with clamping force from 28 up to 650 ton
- Robot handling for fully automatic production
- product weight from 0.0042 gram up to 2000 gram
- processing of all commodity, Engineering en High Performance Polymers
such as. SAN, ABS, HDPE, LDPE, LCP, PA, PBT, PC, POM, PP, PPA, PPO, PPS, PS, PSU, PEI, PEEK
- production capacity, 3 shifts = 5 days/24 hour
2K Injection Moulding
2 K(omponent) INJECTION MOULDING
2K injection moulding is the ability to produce complex mouldings from two different polymers at the same time
during one machine cycle. This has the benefits of creating mouldings with more than one colour, or with different materials
combined in one moulding. The joins between the separate colours or materials are very strongly joined through the
forming process when the second material is injected into the mould. Taking advantage of these elements allows designers
to create complicated mouldings very easily, with a high level of accuracy and moulded to a high level of repeatability.
Applications: -soft touch (convenience)
-nonslip,
-design,
-seal against damp,
-combination of different materials and/or colours in 1 product
Benefits: Complex mouldings, Cost reductions, Improved quality, Reduced cycle times, Improved bonding
Cleanroom Moulding
CLEANROOM MOULDING
GL plastics has a Cleanroom facility according ISO 14644 Class 8, 100.000
For injection moulding of plastic parts for medical or food industry
In-Mould Labelling
IN MOULD LABELLING In 1 process injection moulding and decoration.
Printed plastic labels being placed in the mould and injection moulded by plastic.
In-Mould-Labelling is a perfect alternative (price-quality) for printing or labelling.
More possibilities (colours, 3D, higher % of covered surface)
Cannot be removed (perfect for safety instructions).
Insert Moulding
INSERT MOULDING
Combination from plastics with mainly metal (different metals possible)
A preformed plastic or metal insert is incorporated into the component during the moulding stage or as a post moulding
stage to improve the strength of the moulding or to add features to aid its functionality.
Reel-to-Reel Moulding
REEL TO REEL MOULDING
Reel to reel moulding is a versatile technology that allows for great precision in the manufacture of tiny components.
It is especially useful for the automotive and electronics industry.
The process involves two reels – a feed reel and take-up reel.
A continuous carrier strip containing a line of parts is indexed and fed from the feed reel through the injection moulding machine.
Plastic is moulded over the parts on the strip and the strip is fed onto the take-up reel.
The reel ensures consistent alignment and orientation of parts.
reel to reel moulding allows us to create a wide assortment of parts combining different materials.
We deliver the parts to you on the take-up reel, ready for insertion into your automated assembly line, or in single parts.
Strip Moulding
STRIP MOULDING
Similar to reel-to-reel moulding but with difference that products are not up-reeled but moulded into a strip from a
certain length or cut out of a strip for being sole items.
Micro/Miniature Moulding
MICRO / MINIATURE MOULDING
Miniaturisation of parts as well as complete systems is a trend that is happening throughout the world.
Micro moulding opens up the door to producing tiny parts relatively easily.
.
Micro moulding produces parts that have a shot weight of 1 gram and less. Our smallest product has a weight of 0,004 gram
Shot weights are so small that tool design is very complicated due to the minute nature of all the moving parts involved
in the process.
Parts with slightly greater shot weight than that of micro moulding are not classed as being micro but they are still
considerably smaller than most parts that are injection moulded.
Most miniature moulded parts are being produced in higher cavity tools.
Shot volumes measuring less than a single granule and geometries of just a few hundredths of a millimetre are used frequently.
