All India Photography Contest for Children, 2008
Rules of the contest
The contest is OPEN to all students of ages 12-18 / classes 6-12 from formal, nonformal,
private and government schools from all states and union territories of the Indian Union.
The entries should be sent through the Head of the Institution along with the certificate of
bonafide work in the prescribed format.
Each student may send in a maximum of TWO entries, one on each of the two themes.
Nature – encompassing all natural phenomena and features, living and
non-living
Humans in action – encompassing people's life, their work, their culture. (You
may not enter photographs of buildings, monuments, machines or other products
of human endeavour; you may however enter photographs of people making
these)
Content of the photographs should not be obscene or hurt any religious or social
sentiment.
The entries in colour (glossy/matt) or black and white of size 12.7cm x 17.7cm (5”x7”) or
20.3 cm x 25.4 cm (8”x10”) should be sent along with entry form completed in all
respects, on or before 30 October, 2008.
A jury consisting of acclaimed photographers and educationists will be constituted,
for screening and selection of entries.
All entries received would be showcased on the CIET website along with the
student’s details.
Photographs submitted to the competition will not be returned. NCERT will be free to
use these photographs for educational purposes in their electronic or print publications.
The best 100 entries will be awarded a certificate of merit / commendation.
The top 20 entries / students would be invited to a two-week course in photography to
be organised at CIET, NCERT.
