Character Analysis

Vikram Singh:61 year old, factory owner, husband and father. A man who

deeply loves his family and has a business of selling cylinder heads to

Indian Army

Geeta Singh: A devoted mother, she has not given up hope that her sonwill return some day. She holds on to this belief because if perished

during war, then her husband is responsible for her sons death

Vishal: the oldest son of Vikram and Geeta Singh. Vishal works alongside

his father, helping him manage the factory. Vishal fought bravely in War,

but was changed by his experience. Vishal is a loyal, hardworking son.

Rahul: The elder son of Vikram and Geeta Singh who went missing in

Kargil War 4 years ago. He was in love with Pooja.



Character Analysis

Madhavi: The business partner of Vikram Singh who was

convicted and spent 4 years in jail for the crime of

supplying defected cylinders

Pooja: The fiance of Rahul who has lost all hopes oh his

return and plans to marry Vishal

Aarushi: The elder daughter of Madhvi who gets to know

about the truth of Vikram Singh



Scene 1

Madhavi is in jail convicted for supplying defected cylinders in

the Kargil War to Indian Army

Arushi, her daughter goes to meet her in the jail to tell her thatPooja and Vishal are going to get married

Madhavi is extremely hurt to hear the news and wants Arushi to

stop the marriage as Vikram Singh is responsible for the supply

She tells Arushi about the incident which took place 4 years ago



Scene 2 Flashback

Madhvi calls Vikram Singh to tell her about the defective

cylinders

Vikram assures Madhivi to go ahead and supply them as hewill take the responsibility of everything

The defective cylinders result in death of 21 soldiers and

both of them are convicted

Vikram Singh puts the entire blame on Madhavi and

escapes from the clutches of justice



Scene 3

Vishal and Pooja share the news of their marriage with Vikram Sigh

Geeta Singh is shocked by their decision as she still hopes that Rahul will

return

Arushi confronts Vikram Singh about the incident

The family gets to know that Rahul has committed suicide after he gets to

know that his father was responsible for supplying defective cylinders

� Vikram Singh claims that his highest good is his family; that he

committed his crime solely to protect them. Do you believehim?

� If Vishal were to "do the right thing" at the end of the play,

what would it be?

� Why doesn't the community confront Vikram Singh about hisguilt?
