11:30a Golf Tournament Registration – Loews Ventana Canyon Course

12:30p Shotgun StartLocated just steps from the front lobby, Loews Ventana Canyon offers two Tom Fazio-designed championship 18-hole golf courses. The AAED Tournament will be held at The Canyon Course.  This 6,836 yard, par 72 course winds through the inspiring beauty of Esperero Canyon and incorporates the massive rock formation known as Whaleback Rock. The par 5 – 18th hole showcases a partial island green and a steep, cascading waterfall.  This is a golfing experience you will not want to miss!

6:30p - 8:30p Welcome Reception - Upper TerraceIt is Happy Hour(s) AAED Style! Come join us for a Surprise Birthday Party (celebrating AAED’s 40th Anniversary) on the Upper Terrace to celebrate the big 4-OH! of Economic Development success in Arizona (and some of our past presidents). It's a great way to round off a day on the golf course, connect with new (and old) friends and start off this year's conference with a bang. 9:00a - 10:00a Keynote Speaker Grant WoodsGrant Woods is one of Arizona's most acclaimed and successful lawyers. He served as Arizona’s Attorney General from 1991 – 1999 and was selected by his peers as the nation's top attorney general in 1995. He was one of the principal architects of the states' lawsuits against the tobacco companies and a key negotiator in the resulting largest civil settlement in history. Mr. Woods does not shy away from controversy and he will share his views of where Arizona has been and where we are going. You do not want to miss this hour of great insight from a seasoned Arizona activist that includes plenty of time for Q&A.

10:15a - 11:45a Transportation in Arizona and the Impact it has on our Economy Transportation plays a critical role throughout our economy, both nationally and internationally.  In Arizona, our linkages to the west and east coasts, Mexico and the ability for safe and efficient travel throughout the state are vital components of our economy.  This session will include representatives from BNSF Railway, Arizona Trucking Association and ADOT who will discuss how goods are mobilized, our competitive advantages and disadvantages and an in-depth look at future Arizona transportation issues.

Marshall Trimble is considered the “dean of Arizona historians” and is often referred to as the ‘Will Rogers of Arizona.’ “
