Our Installation.Attention to detail is one of the most crucial aspects of any installation pro-

cess. At All Season, our crews strive to give each installation the attention

deserved by every customer. Our crews take careful precauations in order to

minimize disruption to your home, inside and out. Our installation will conclude

only after all clean up steps are complete, including the disposal of job-related

debris, and our field representative has walked around the job site with you to

ensure your satisfaction of our product, personnel, and installation. Our goal is

to improve the way you live by making your home more energy efficient and

comfortable.

Removal of your existing windows.

Installation of your new windows are completed precisely within the

existing opening and are plumbed, insulated, and secured into place.

Clean up and removal of all job related debris along with any

finishing touches that may be needed.

Most installations are completed in 1 to 2 days.

The Infrared Image below shows heat and energy loss in red.

Over 50% of heat loss in a typical house occurs through the windows

and doors.

Heat conducted through glass and frames can lose the equivalent of a

pint of oil every day for each window.

Air infiltration due to a crack 1/16th inch wide in an average window

frame is the equivalent of having a hole in your wall the size of a brick.

In an average house this is like having a hole the size of 15 bricks.

3 Major Ways Heat is Lost.

1. Infiltration

2. Radiation

3. Conduction

Page 23: All Season Windows

107 SE Washington Street, Suite 233, Portland, OR Phone: (503) 287-0767 Fax: (503) 287-1234

There are two types of radiation: thermal and solar. Thermal radiation is energy

that passes directly through air from a warmer surface to a cooler one and is a

major cause of heat loss in the winter from your home. Solar radiation is the

transfer of heat from the sun through through your windows and into a room.

Once inside, objects in your home reradiate this heat at weaker wavelengths

that are unable to penetrate the window glass. As a result, a heated “green-

house effect” occurs and causes your air conditioner to work overtime.

Infiltration is the exchange of warm air for cool air and vice versa. Losses are

driven by wind and by differences between indoor and outdoor temperatures.

They occur primarily through cracks in the sash, gaps between the sash and

jamb, and gaps between the frame and rough opening.

Infiltration1.

3.

2. Conduction

Radiation

Conduction is the movement of heat through solid materials, like the glass and

metal frame of of an older window. In this process three times as much energy

is lost as infiltration and 25% of total heat loss occurs this way.

Dense construction materials only slow thermal transmittance

Cold to touch

Obsolete for residential needs

.....

..

More cleaning, additional difficulty

Poor construction including over lap butt joint corners and weep holes

Maintenance still required for concealed windows

Do not block air, moisture, and dust

Vinyl Clad, Composite Windows

Aluminum conducts heat and cold

There are no industry standards and as a result most products are

constructed of inferior materials

Hindrance for fire escape plan

Poor warranties, most offer only a limited life warranty

Usually must be replaced earlier than expected

Obstruct sight lines

..

..

..

Potential warping and rotting of the wood core from trapped moisture

Interior core made of soft Ponderosa Pine

Product materials swell in summer and shrink in winter

Window sizes can not be customized, offered in stock sizes only

Constant maintenance required, both inside and out

Difficult to clean
