All students should wear a white shirt

• Your shirt must be tucked into your trousers/skirt at all times

We expect everyone to wear the correct school

tie

• If you come to school without a tie you have to sign out a tie to borrow for the day

• If you lose or damage the tie you will be charged the cost to replace it

We expect all pupils to wear suitable trousers:

The trousers sold by our uniform suppliers are of a width and fabric that conform to our uniform code. Parents are free to purchase black trousers from supermarkets or other suppliers, provided they follow the uniform code.

You MUST NOT…..

…wear

1) trousers containing denim or Lycra

2) Boot cut, drainpipe, tight, tapered or turn up style trousers

3) jeans, leggings, jeggings, or trousers with zips or other adornments on them

We expect Y7 pupils (and from September 2022, all pupils) to wear the St Michael’s skirt:

You MUST NOT…..

• wear a plain black, knee-length school skirt

We expect everyone to wear black school shoes

The uniform policy states:

“No trainers or pumps” and “Boots are not

permitted”

You MUST NOT…..

Wear trainers, pumps or boots

You MUST NOT…..

Wear footwear with any logo, adornment or motif

You MUST NOT…..

Wear footwear with coloured stitching or laces

You MUST NOT…..

Wear footwear with colour on any part of the shoe

We expect everyone to wear a navy blue, black or grey coat to school

Hairstyles….. • Should be neat and smart

• Hair should be a single, natural colour, no shorter than a grade 2

• No extreme styles, including ‘tramlines’, sculpting, shaving, patterns or undercuts.

• Long hair/braids should be worn down or up in single ponytail or simple bun at the back of the head. Please note – top knots/high buns are not permitted.

• Hair adornments are not permitted

• Use of gels or styling products should be minimal

• No bandanas or baseball caps

• Hairbands, scrunchies and toggles (girls) must be plain: navy or black only

Jewellery…..

• Only a watch and a single plain stud may be worn in each ear. Smart watches are not permitted.

• No rings or ear stretchers

• No other body piercing is permitted

• No zips, chains or wide belts

Make-up, Nails and Fake Tan

• Make-up: is not permitted

• Nails: nail varnish is not permitted. This includes acrylic/gel or any other fake nails

• Fake tan: is not permitted

These are not new rules

• The uniform policy is available on the website and forms part of the home/school agreement
