All Things Advent and Christmas 2016 The season of gift giving and receiving is almost here. Are you making your lists and thinking about a hectic shopping schedule? It is a wonderful feeling to give a gift and see the hap- piness that it brings to the giver and the receiver. This Christmas, you may want to think about sharing the joy of Madison Avenue Chris- tian Church with someone you know. Tell them that Madison Avenue Christian Church is a place of joy, worship, fellowship and service. By inviting a friend or family member, you may be giving that person the greatest gift of all - a church where they will find the most welcoming, warm people, and find blessings by being a blessing. You will see the many spe- cial worship services that are being planned for this Christmas season in this Newsletter. We are going to have guest musicians, beau- tiful decorations, a Christ- mas Eve candle light ser- vice and a special Christ- mas Day worship designed for the whole family to en- joy. Please consider your Church to be the gift you can give someone that may change their life forever. May this Christmas season fill your life with joy and peace. God Bless you, Simon

CWF Auction •Wednesday, December 7th 6:30pm •The Farm Clubhouse – Taylor Mill Take a break from all the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season. Forget the stress of Christmas for one night. Come join the

fun and fellowship at the CWF annual Christmas Auction. You will laugh until you cry, I promise!

We begin the evening sharing a meal together followed by an auction of wrapped gifts to raise money for church outreach as

well as items needed within the church. All you need to do is bring an appetizer or dessert along with two wrapped gifts, one

“nice” gift and one “not so nice” gift. Let your imagination soar as you decide what to wrap up for your unsuspecting fellow

church family member who purchases the gift, auction style.

It is a night of endless laughter you won’t regret so mark your calendars and I’ll see you there!

Angel Tree

We are paired with James E. Biggs Early Childhood Development Center for our Angel Tree. There are 35 ornaments in the

tree—a mix of boy and girl.

1.) Take an ornament from the tree ad write your name on the list next to the number corresponding to the ornament.

2.) Shop for items listed on the ornament.

3.) Return un-wrapped gifts to Fay by Sunday, December 11th.

4.) Know that you have given a gift, because God first gave you the greatest gift.

* Something to think about...when purchasing dolls—consider dolls that are seemingly African– American and Hispanic. Toys

should reflect the child playing with them and not all the children we buy for are Caucasian. You may have to shop at stores in

different neighborhoods or online to find ethnically diverse dolls.
