Allah- The Most Merciful!
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the
Most Merciful (1:1)
Our Lord! And make us submissive unto You and
of our offspring a nation submissive unto You, and
show us our Manasik (all the ceremonies of
pilgrimage - Hajjand 'Umrah), and accept our
repentance. Truly, You are the One Who accepts
repentance, the Most Merciful) , Al-Baqara,
Chapter #2, Verse #128)
Thus We have made you [true Muslims - real believers of
Islâmic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet
Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways)], a Wasat (just)
(and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind
and the Messenger (Muhammad) be a witness over you.
And We made the Qiblah (prayer direction towards
Jerusalem) which you used to face, only to test those who
followed the Messenger (Muhammad) from those who
would turn on their heels (i.e. disobey the Messenger).
Indeed it was great (heavy) except for those whom Allâh
guided. And Allâh would never make your faith (prayers) to
be lost (i.e. your prayers offered towards Jerusalem). Truly,
Allâh is full of kindness, the Most Merciful towards
mankind. (Al-Baqarah 2:143)
They are those on whom are the
Salawât (i.e. blessings, etc.) (i.e. who
are blessed and will be forgiven) from
their Lord, and (they are those who)
receive His Mercy, and it is they who
are the guided-ones. (Al-Baqarah 2:157)
And to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. He forgives whom He wills, and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (3:129)
And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain). Till when they have carried a heavy laden cloud, We drive it to a land that is dead, then We cause water (rain) to descend thereon. Then We produce every kind of fruit therewith. Similarly, We shall raise up the dead, so that you may remember or take heed. (Al-A'raf 7:57)
So, as for those who believed in Allâhand held fast to Him, He will admit them to His Mercy and Grace (i.e. Paradise), and guide them to Himself by a Straight Path. (An-Nisa 4:175)
Certainly, We have brought to them a Book (the Qur'ân) which We have explained in detail with knowledge,
- a guidance and a Mercy to a people who believe. (Al-A'raf 7:52)
And ordain for us good in this world, and in the Hereafter. Certainly we have turned unto You." He said: (As to) My Punishment I afflict therewith whom I will and My Mercy embraces all things. That (Mercy) I shall ordain for those who are the Muttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2), and give Zakât; and those who believe in Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs and revelations, etc.); (Al-A'raf 7:156)
So, when the Qur'ân is recited, listen to it, and be silent that you may receive Mercy. [i.e. during the compulsory congregational prayers when the Imâm (of a mosque) is leading the prayer (except Sûrat Al-Fâtiha), and also when he is delivering the Friday-prayer Khutbah]. [TafsirAt-Tabari, Vol.9, Pages 162-4] (Al-A'raf 7:204)
And if We give man a taste of Mercy from Us, and then withdraw it from him, verily! He is despairing, ungrateful. (Hud 11:9)
And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through Mercy, and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small." (Al-Isra 17:24)
And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) not but as a Mercy for the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al-Anbiya 21:107)
And say (O Muhammad
SAW): "My Lord! Forgive and
haveMercy, for You are the
Best of those who
show Mercy!" (Al-Mu'minun
23:118)
