Team Registration Form

Cook This! is modeled after the competition at the Iowa State Fair. Teams of three will work together to compete in

three challenges demonstrating their ability in food preparation, testing their knowledge in matter related to food,

nutrition, and wellness, as well as their communication skills as they deliver a presentation on a related topic. The

challenge is designed to test participants’ skills in equipment and food product identification, knife skills, meal com-

pletion, creativity, communication, and teamwork.

Challenges will vary based on age divisions: Grades 4-6 (Junior), 7-8 (Intermediate), 9-12 (Senior)

*There is a new twist for the Senior Division in the Culinary challenge. You will need to develop a school meal idea

that utilizes local foods and adheres to budget and nutrition guidelines. The group is allowed an adult mentor(s) to

help them through this planning process.*

Gather your friends and create a team! At least one person needs to be a 4-H member. Open to youth in northeast

Iowa in grades 4th-12

th. Limit of 5 teams per age division. Once team is registered, you will receive the challenge

packet with all the information you need to prepare for the event.

Saturday, May 13, 10 AM - 2 PM at Postville High School, in Postville, IA.
