As a start-up and volunteer-run library, Aloha Community Library Association in Oregon can’t afford to take chances when it comes to technology services. That’s why they turned to EnvisionWare for computer and print management. “Without an IT staff, we needed a computer and print management system that would be easy to use and manage, particularly by a rotating group of volunteers,” said Aloha’s board president, Doug Hoy. “The EnvisionWare ® Suite is intuitive and reliable, and frees up our staff to assist in other areas.” Located in a suburb of Portland, Aloha was once one of the most populous, unincorporated areas in Oregon without a library. In 2011, community members formed the Aloha Community Library Association to meet the demand for both library and community services. The library is 100 percent donor-funded and is operated by an expansive group of volunteers, including a network of public and school librarians. In addition to offering programs and materials, the library has six public access computers for catalog searching and Internet access.
