About Aloha Secure EOD

Introduction

Introducing Aloha Secure EODIntroducing Aloha Secure EODIntroducing Aloha Secure EODIntroducing Aloha Secure EOD A comprehensive utility consisting of a Tool Box of over 55 post End-of-Day Utilities which support the mission, performance, and securit y of an Aloha System.

The Aloha Secure EOD “Tool Box” is organized into th ese Work Areas:

 Maintenance 7 Tools

 Security 7 Tools

 Archiving 2 Tools

NCR Hospitality Product Suite Backup 15 Tools

Third Party Programs Backup 14 Tools

Windows System and Support Backup 6 Tools

 Disk Imaging 1 Tool

Unattended Print and Export 5 Tools The program primarily consists of these files: AlohaSecureEOD.Exe AlohaSecureEOD.Ini

GetISODate.Exe SecureWipe.Exe Aloha Secure EOD is designed to grow as needs chang e: Tools can be turned on or off and settings changed. Support for the Old, the Now and the Future : a) Supports Aloha Versions 5.2 and above: b) Windows Operating Systems Server 2003 to Server 2008; and c) Microsoft 32-Bit and 64-Bit Operating Platforms. Aloha Secure EOD is easy to implement . The Aloha Secure EOD Installer discovers what is installed on each server. A tech then answers a few setup questions. Finally the installer configures and sets up the program. Aloha Secure EOD keeps its own Log : As the program includes Security Tools, the Debout serves as documentation of execution of security tasks--as well as a troubleshooting tool. Aloha Secure EOD runs unattended : Triggered using Windows™ Task Scheduler and two (2) Scheduled Tasks. The first Scheduled Task—DOB Fetcher--typically runs at 11:30pm and captures the DOB for later use. The second Scheduled Task—Nightly Process--runs 30 minutes to an hour after the Aloha EOD Event and runs the tools configured in the AlohaSecureEOD.Ini. Windows Scheduled Tasks are initially created by the Aloha Secure EOD Installer. Aloha Secure EOD uses a custom Command Center Alert to notify a Call Center of an error : There are over 200 triggering events in the program that can notify of a problem to make for quick problem resolution.

About BSG Programs:

To leverage NCR Deploy Manager Custom Deploy, and, to insure reliability running BSGBSGBSGBSG programs on a variety of Aloha Server Pc’s, there was a major design problem we had to solve: The program had to work using only ONE executable file.

(This was all Deploy Manager allowed) We solved the problem by turning to a Windows standard: The Batch File . . . with a twist. BSG uses a compiler that allows our program and the supporting programs we need to be combined into one Exe file. So, don’t let our look deceive you! A side- benefit to this approach is our files tend to be smaller-- thus making for quicker downloads!

To do this BSGBSGBSGBSG uses a Windows standard: The Batch File . . . with a bit of a twist. BSG uses a compiler that allows a group of program files to be reduced to a single executable file. Do not let looks deceive you! BSG programs are contemporary, easy

to use and implement. A side benefit is BSG programs are smaller, thus quicker to download!

The idea is simple : Implement a complete, repeatable, supportable and proven system to manage all of an Aloha System’s Post End-of-Day Processes using one configurable program.

AlohaSecureEOD.Ini The AlohaSeucreEOD.Exe is run using in the AlohaSecureEOD.Ini, located in the same folder as the program. The Ini file contains all of the information the program needs to operate. It is fully configurable and can be set to run in literally a limitless number of ways to meet the variety of configurations for Aloha. In the sections that follow are instructions for the INI entries. The Aloha Secure EOD Installer will do the initial setup of this file with input from the Service Tech.

The AlohaSecureEOD.Ini is organized into the following sections:

[SiteInfo] [Features] [DataPaths] [Settings]

Backup Drive

The Aloha Secure EOD Utility expects a backup drive of some kind if using the backup features. The program supports any of the following as a Backup Drive:

1. An additional physical hard drive located inside the Aloha Server; configured as a non-shared Drive (letter). 2. An additional physical hard drive located outside the Aloha Server; configured as a non-shared Drive (letter)--such as a

USB External Backup Drive. WARNING A USB External Backup Drive should always be plugged in to the same USB Port. Changing USB

ports can result Windows assigning a different Drive Letter.

3. A locally networked drive resource that is accessible from the Aloha Server to read and write to and is configured as a Drive letter (Utility doesn’t support a URL path).

4. A remotely networked drive resource that is accessible from the Aloha Server to read and write to and is configured as a Drive letter (Utility currently doesn’t support a URL path).

5. A “Cloud-Based” off-site storage location. As long as the back-up location can be translated to a remembered Drive Letter on the Aloha Server it will work. Aloha Secure EOD Back-Up Protection : AlohaSecureEOD.Exe will periodically check for the presence of the Back-Up drive as tools are launched. If the program fails to find it, it will 1) Log the error to the Debout.AlohaSecureEOD.Txt; 2) Create a Command Center Alert; and 3) Skip running that tool. If “ DP-BackupDrive=” is blank in AlohaSecureEOD.Ini : AlohaSecureEOD.Exe will skip running all Backup Tools and will skip the Prerequisite test to verify the Backup Drive is present . The Aloha Secure EOD Utility will check for the designated backup drive and folder before each tool is executed. If a folder is not present, it the utility will create it. If the Backup Drive Test fails, that task is skipped, the error is written to the Debout, and a Command Center Alert is created.

Advisory: If “Run-Backup=” in AlohaSecureEOD.Ini is not set to” Y”, then the Aloha Secure EOD Utility

will not run Back-up Tools.

Source Drives

The Aloha Secure EOD Utility will check for the designated source drive and folder before each tool is executed—as defined in AlohaSecureEOD.Ini. If this Source Test fails, that task is skipped, and then an error is written to the Debout, and a Command Center Alert is created.

Activity and Error Logging

The Aloha Secure EOD Utility logs all activity for accountability and troubleshooting. The log is placed in the %IBERDIR%\TMP folder and is named Debout.AlohaSecureEOD.Txt. The log mimics the format of Aloha Debout’s for ease of use. The log self-generates. A new Debout.AlohaSecureEOD.Txt file will record the following information: For each day the utility is run, those entries will be listed and “bookmarked” with the [Mode] Event Identifier identifying when the indicators “ProgramProgramProgramProgram SSSStartedtartedtartedtarted”””” and “PPPProgram Completerogram Completerogram Completerogram Complete.” AlohaSecureEOD.Exe is a rich set of tools. Each tool has an Event Identifier in the log. For each tool that is run by the utility, the log identifies when that “Process StartedProcess StartedProcess StartedProcess Started” and “Process CompleteProcess CompleteProcess CompleteProcess Complete.” This is “nested” between “ProProProProcesscesscesscess SSSStartedtartedtartedtarted”””” and “ProProProProcesscesscesscess CompleteCompleteCompleteComplete.” The Trans.log used a [Event Identifier] in notating the log. Each Aloha Secure EOD Tool has its own identifier for ease of reference. For exception activity, the Aloha Secure EOD Utility uses the following Event Identifiers:

[[[[ERRORERRORERRORERROR ]]]] - A fatal issue that prevented the utility from running.

Aloha Server Uptime Logging

Daily, the Aloha Secure EOD Utility logs the amount of time since the Aloha Server was last restarted:

NCR Command Center Alerts

The Aloha Secure EOD Utility uses an NCR Command Center Alert to immediately notify the Help Desk of an issue that requires attention. The program current contains several hundred fault conditions that will trigger a Command Center Alert. The Aloha Secure EOD Utility creates a file named ALOHASECUREEODERROR in the %IBERDIR%\TMP folder to notify Command Center. The Error Is In The Alert! To save time for the Help Desk, in addition to writing an Error to the Debout.AlohaSecureEOD.Txt file, when the alert marker file is created, written into it is a one-line text message which is the error. The file can be opened with a Text Editor such as Notepad. For Example: Low_Disk_Space__22%_remaining _on_D

Daily Reset of a Command Center Alert : AlohaSecureEOD.Exe will clear a Command Center alert as the first order of business when it runs. This is done for cases where a Help Desk resolves an issue but forgets to delete the Alert Flag. If the condition that triggered the Alert still exists, a new Alert flag is created. Creating The Command Center Alert: Find instructions on creating a Command Center Alert on Page 58

Running AlohaSecureEOD for the First Time

Aloha Secure EOD Utility should be the LAST thing installed on the Aloha Server—preferably after a day or two of activity.. The first time Aloha Secure EOD Utility is run—especially on an existing Aloha Server—will be the longest. The Installer provides the option to run the utility for the first time at the end of the installation. After the first run, the utility uses a synchronize approach to backup which maintains a perfect image and reduces the processing time.

Installing the Aloha Secure EOD Utility

Aloha Secure EOD Utility is licensed and must be installed using the Aloha Secure EOD Utility Installer.

Before Installing

1. Administrator: Must be logged on as a Windows Administrator to install.

2. Source : The Aloha Secure EOD Utility MUST BE installed from the Aloha Secure EOD Installer .

3. Installing on a New or Replacement Aloha Server : The Aloha Secure EOD Installer includes a powerful Discovery Engine that will look and setup most NCR/Aloha and Third Party Programs to expedite the installation process. For that reason, the Aloha Secure EOD Utility is the LAST program to install.

4. Installing on a Combo Terminal : The Aloha Secure EOD Utility will run on a Combo Server/Terminal using either an internal, external or networked drive. Use the batch program below to run Aloha POS. It requires Wait.Exe to be in the BIN folder. This batch prevents Iber(QS) from running when the Aloha Secure EOD Utility is working:

5. Firewall, White List and Anti-Virus Programs : The Compiler used by BSG for Aloha Secure EOD can

result in “unauthorized” or “false positive” Trojan errors that prevent the program from running.

a. For NSS and other Security Methods using a White Li st : The 3 Files for Aloha Secure EOD should be added as authorized software. Contact NSS Support at [email protected] and request the program files for the Aloha Secure EOD Utility be added to the White List. (See Page 65)

b. For AVG, Norton, MSE, and other Anti-Virus Software : Add the folder the program is installed in to the Exception List for that protection software. Recommended is to install to the Aloha Bin folder and Exempt the Aloha folder in the anti-virus program. (See Page 65 for Program File List)

6. Backup Drive : If backing up to a USB, Network, or Cloud-based storage location, set this up as a Drive Letter in Windows before running the Aloha Secure EOD Installer .

7. Deltrack : If Aloha CleanPan is installed, the Installer will delete DelTrack.Exe if it finds it in the BIN folder.

8. If a BSG Custom Remove Add-In was purchased : It is built into your company’s licensed copy of the Installer. The Installer will automatically remove or neutralize existing End-Of-Day tasks.

Customizing the Aloha Secure EOD Utility Overview

The Aloha Secure EOD Utility is configured using settings found in AlohaSecureEOD.Ini This can be edit using Microsoft™ Notepad or a similar program. Using the information in this Users Guide, these settings can be modified as needed to get the best results from the utility.

Guidelines

AlohaSecureEOD.Ini

Most entries in AlohaSecureEOD.Ini should be self-explanatory and are explained in this Users Guide. AlohaSecureEOD.Ini is organized as follows:

[SiteInfo] Information regarding Aloha and Windows on this Server [Features] A Series of YN to enable utility functions [DataPaths] Where programs are located (no final “\” on path statement) [Settings] Parameters for specific Tools

Using a Feature is either a setting of Y or N. (Other answers are interpreted as N) Download the installer to the target Aloha Server (the AlohaUpdate folder is suggested) Path statement entries DO NOT require a “\” as the last character. Doing so can cause that tool to fail. A quote (“) character is NOT needed at the beginning and end of a path statement. Doing so can cause

that tool to fail. A quote character used as part of a Command String for Report Export/Print and for the Image Tool IS allowed.

The utility determines WHAT Aloha (Manager) is installed looking at the following: • Use-AM56= Aloha Manager Versions 5 and 6 • Use-AM12= “New” Aloha Manager 12,13 etc. (also Version 7) • Use-CFC= Aloha Configuration Center

Only one of these should be set to “YYYY” and the others set to “NNNN”. If a Server is updated after this utility is installed, you can change this configuration to reflect the change.

Aloha Secure EOD Daily Operation – Nightly Process

OverviewOverviewOverviewOverview:::: The Aloha Secure EOD Nightly Process is a configurable script of tasks which run daily on an Aloha System Server. Each task is run by one or more programs in the Tool Box. In this section you will find a description and configuration instructions for each tool. The program is started using a Windows Scheduled Task, set to run Daily—preferably after Aloha EOD is run and an EDC Batch (if used) is settled. The program will run regardless if an Windows User is logged on. Each tool is defined how often it runs. Some tools run daily, some on certain days, while others once a month. By doing this, the workload is distributed so the Nightly Process is efficient. The Aloha Secure EOD Nightly Process focus are in t hese Work Areas:

System Maintenance System Security Archiving System Backup and Unattended Exporting and Reporting

Pre-Nightly Process Tasks

1. The Aloha Secure EOD Nightly Process begins with a “Systems Check” and aborts AlohaSureEOD.EXE with errors if the Aloha Server or the environment is not correct.

2. It continues--if a Combo Terminal to temporarily stop Aloha POS. 3. If using RDB Mode (SQL), Grinders are stopped. 4. The program next closes open NCR/Aloha Server Programs (including secondary programs called by AM),

(It knows the difference between Aloha Manager Ver 5-6, Configuration Center, and Aloha Manager Version 12+). 5. Last Aloha Services are stopped.

Post-Nightly Process Tasks

1. When done, the Aloha Secure EOD “remembers” what Aloha Services it stopped, and restarts them. 2. Select NCR/Aloha Programs if closed, are restarted.

The intent is the Aloha System User sees their desktop where they left it. Activity Logging All daily activity is recorded to Debout.AlohaSecureEOD.Txt located in the Aloha TMP folder.

In the following pages each Tool in the Aloha Secur e EOD Utility is explained using this format:

1. What The Tool Does. 2. How Often It Runs. 3. How to Configure it. (AlohaSecureEOD.Ini Settings) 4. Typical Debout.AlohaSecureEOD.Txt information recorded. 5. Supplemental Information needed to use this to ol.

Aloha folders that often end up with clutter—legacy program files, aging Debouts, transport files that were never removed, and general clutter. The tool checks Bin, BMP, Data, Newdata, Recipe and Tmp folders. For Data and Newdata, the tool contains a library of obsolete and misplaced files that can be safely removed. (See below for what is removed) For, BMP and Recipe folders the program removes forgotten Zip files. Finally, for the Diag and Tmp folders, files older than a defined number of days are deleted as no longer being needed. (Default value is 14 days) The TMP file in particular can become a wasteland of files that are no longer important, often slowing down the troubleshooting process to determine what files are important. 2. 2. 2. 2. Aloha EDC STL Delete Tool 1. 1. 1. 1. What This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool Does: The Aloha EDC STL Delete Tool deletes settlement files older than a configurable number of days in ALL EDC Processor folders. This tool addresses the fact that EDC currently does not have a self-purging function, STL files are not needed or referenced after a period of time, that they are a security issue, and they take up space. In short, they got to go. The Aloha EDC STL Delete Tool examines ALL EDC Processor folders off the EDC root—active and inactive—and purges files based on a files Windows date stamp (see Note 4). The utility deletes EDC files: STL, ..A - .N, SUB*, SET* and .Zip. Reducing the number of active STL files on the Aloha Server is a “best practices” approach to data security. When you consider we monthly do a DOD Wipe of the Hard Drives, this information is permanently removed. Thus the Aloha EDC STL Delete Tool solves two problems for the End-User:

1. Reduce security exposure; and 2. Eliminate clutter and unneeded files.

Note 4: In testing we discovered that if a Drive had been replaced and EDC files copied to the new drive, that the Windows Date Stamp of the EDC STL files would change to the current date. Thus when this utility ran, those files would be ignored. This is an exception. However the utility does address it by also finding and deleting STL files that include the years 2000-2010 in their file name.

Central Log Tool 1. 1. 1. 1. What This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool Does: Central Log addresses PCI 10.5.3—PCI Centralized Logging Requirements--by collecting NCR/Aloha Program Logs and Microsoft™ Windows Event logs from the Aloha Server, PLUS the Hardware Firewall Log if it saved to the Aloha Server. Central Log is set to Y by the Installer as a default. You can change it to N to not use this tool. A Central Log file is a zip-file containing multiple log files for the DOB Business Day. It is created daily and uniquely named. It contains NCR/Aloha and Windows Log files for that business day. It exports the last 48-hours of Windows Event Logs as text and includes that information. Last--if using a Watchguard™, SonicWall™ or other Commercial-Grade hardware firewall that is configured to maintain an activity log (file) on the Aloha Server’s hard drive—it includes that log. As the Central Log is stored locally on the Aloha Server’s hard drive, a “compensating factor” is used to make it more “difficult” to access log files once compiled: The Central Log zip file is password-protected. A person would have to have knowledge of Aloha Secure EOD, plus have site-specific information to open the Zip files and look the file contents The Central Log file password is typically known to the Reseller or Corporate Help Desk: It is the site’s Aloha license number. Transport zip files are stored in a folder on the Backup Drive for easy access (and optional off-site transfer). The default folder name is x:\]CentralLog where x is the drive letter. The Installer will initially set this up. A Central Log Archive File name is constructed from four (4) components: XX-YY-CentralLog-%DOB%.Zip where

XX – First two (2) letters of the Site Name as stored in Zip2L-SiteName= in AlohaSecureEOD.Ini (If missing Central Log uses “AA ”) YY – First two (2) letters of the Site City as stored in Zip2L-SiteCity= in AlohaSecureEOD.Ini. (If missing Central Log uses “BB ”) The word “CentralLog” and DOB – The date of business expressed as YYYYMMDD for this current run of AlohaSecureEOD.Exe

. Creating a proper collection of (security) log file is more than scooping up the contents of the Aloha TMP folder. With the broad range of NCR/Aloha products, different log naming conventions (some new Aloha products use MMDDYY in place of YYYYMMDD ), and differing install locations, the Central Log Tool had to develop its own database of Log files to look for and save. Rule of thumb: If the Central Log Tool finds a NCR Hospitality Product is configured for “Y” to Backup in the AlohaSecureEOD.Ini, Central Log will use that information to look for and save its log (if one is created). The Central Log Tool exports and saves the Windows Event Logs for the Aloha Server. It uses a method which creates a report-readable formatted TXT export file. To make allowances for differing business start and end times, Central Log exports the last 2 Calendar Days of Windows Events daily. This will result in some overlap but guard against lapses in data. Select commercial-grade firewall products allow for their activity log to be saved to a networked drive. For these products, the Central Log Tool can be configured to capture and save the firewall log in the Central Log file for that day. Select perpetual logs are subsequently deleted by the Central Log Tool after being saved to allow a new log be created for the next business day. The Central Log Tool logs its daily activity in detail to AlohaSecureEOD.Txt. This provides supporting documentation of security activities on the Aloha System. 2. 2. 2. 2. Appliances such as those provided by WatchGuard™ can be configured to save to a hard drive on the local network (such as the Aloha Server), and can be setup to self-purge when the file grows to a certain size. By capturing the file daily, there will be an overlap in record-keeping. However, if the need for an audit or inspection of the log is ever required, daily backup copies are available.

Secure Wipe Tool 1. 1. 1. 1. What This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool Does: The Secure Disk Wipe Tool runs a DOD Level-3 physical wipe of each logical drive on an Aloha Server (up to 3—Drive C, Aloha Drive, and Backup Drive) as a best practices approach for erasing deleted files. Runs once a month for each drive. As a wipe can take several hours, a separate utility is launched minimized to run the wipe. SecureWipe.Exe runs minimized in the Windows System Tray with a Warning to “not close” as the Windows Frame Title. If it is made full-screen, a red warning screen with additional information is displayed showing the progress of the wipe in progress. SecureWipe runs SDelete.Exe. 2. 2. 2. 2. Transport Package Tool Set

1. 1. 1. 1. What This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool Does: The Transport Package Tool Set creates easy to move and store transport (Zip) files for off-site storage of site-specific application program files . This creates an off-site End-User Aloha System library in the event of a catastrophic Aloha Server failure where application program data is unrecoverable. The Transport Package Tool Set makes a set of named Zip files that each contains specific application program data file(s) for current release NCR Hospitality/Aloha programs and key third party programs. A unique file name is created for each transport package for easy identification and to minimize duplication and confusion with other end-user sites This tool can create over 20 unique zip files of application data, ready for transport to a safe storage location. Transport zip files are stored in a single folder on the Backup Drive for easy download and transfer to the Help Desk Secure Storage Server--using tools such as NCR Command Center or automation scripts that you create. The Transport Package naming convention consists of 3 parts: XX-YY-ZZ.Zip where

XX - First 2 letters of the site UNITNAME in Aloha.Ini (If missing use “AA ”) YY – First 2 letters of ADDRESS2 in Aloha.Ini (typically the city), If missing use “BB” ZZ – Is the Transport package 2-charcter Content Identifier (see chart below):

History Zip Creation Tool

1. 1. 1. 1. What This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool Does: The History Zip Creation Tool creates a Zip file containing the last DOB and saves it to a storage folder on the Backup Drive. This provides an additional level of back-up protection and archiving locally, in the event of an Aloha Drive failure. The Zip also is a small transport package to move historical data as needed. If using Aloha Kitchen: It creates a nightly backup that is placed it in the Aloha dated folder. Thus, Aloha Kitchen EOD should be scheduled BEFORE Aloha Secure EOD is run. By doing this, the Zip will contain both Aloha POS and Aloha Kitchen data. 2. 2. 2. 2. How Often It RunsHow Often It RunsHow Often It RunsHow Often It Runs: Daily 3. 3. 3. 3. What These Tools are for: The final part of the Backup focuses Microsoft™ Windows, “supporting software,” common

folders often used by NCR Hospitality Channel Partners and Corporate Users, plus common site-created files.

Although the role of the Aloha Server is becoming more restrictive on what we want a site to use it for, the fact is many

Aloha Servers still act as the site’s “office respository” for mail, work files and such. These are of found in expected locations

(such as the Windows User’s folders). However, we have also come to find these files in unexpected locations. The Aloha

Secure EOD Utility looks in both.

This protects the End-User and enhances the ability to provide a seamless recovery experience if every needed.

Nightly Process – Aloha Print and Export Tool 1. 1. 1. 1. What This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool DoesWhat This Tool Does: The Aloha Print and Export Tool provide a feature-rich set of tools to address almost any requirement for unattended printing and/or exporting as part of the Aloha Secure EOD Nightly Process. Unattended printing uses Aloha RPT.EXE, a Sales Date, and the “/R” parameter followed by the specifics of the report to print. Advisory: Follow the Aloha instructions for unattended printing is setup and works BEFORE making it part of the Nightly Process. Failure to do so may result in the Nightly Process “hanging” or failing to complete! It is the same as if running from Winhook. Consult NCR Hospitality Knowledge Base Article. 6008. Unattended export can be more conditional as the Aloha RPT.EXE may be one of several steps in a process. There may be things that need to happen before the export and after it. The Aloha Print and Export Tool allows for both. When using Aloha RPT.Exe to export, this tool will:

A. (If needed) Run a Pre-Export Batch file. (AlohaSecureEOD.Exe passes the DOB)

B. Run up to 5 Aloha RPT.EXE Export/Print string Jobs on the DOB.

C. (If needed) Run a Post-Export Batch file. (AlohaSecureEOD.Exe passes the DOB)

D. (If needed) Copy exported report, payroll or accounting files to the DOB folder.

E. (If needed) Delete the original export files.

An example on how this work s. Let’s say the Site requires: A) Daily Coconut Code pay and accounting export files; and B) a copy of some GND files copied to the root Aloha folder. In this example, site does not enter Bank Deposits into Aloha Manager.

A. Pre-Export Batch:

We will call this PreExport.BatPreExport.BatPreExport.BatPreExport.Bat. In AlohaSecureEOD.INI, AlohaRptPrtExpPreBatch=PreExport.Bat This batch solve the problem that when use RPT.Exe for some reports, and no Bank Deposit exists, it will prompt for one. As this is unattended, we don’t want that to happen. The Pre-Export Batch solves this problem by copying a staged Aloha Deposit DBF into the DOB folder. This batch will look something like this:

ECHO OFF CLS SET DOB=%1 COPY /Y %IBERDIR%\NULL_DEP\GNDDEPST.DBF %IBERDIR%\%DOB% >NUL

COPY /Y %IBERDIR%\NULL_DEP\GNDDEPST.CDX %IBERDIR%\%DOB% >NUL

NULL_DEP, in this example, is a folder created off the IBERDIR root that holds the 2 preset Aloha Deposit files.

B. Execute up to 5 Aloha RPT.EXE Print or Export strings using the DOB. (In our example we will only need three) AlohaSecureEOD.EXE will build the first part of the export/print string: %IBERDIR%\BIN\RPT.EXE /DATE DOBDOBDOBDOB. You build the rest. In AlohaSecureEOD.Ini, configure the rest of each string. In this example:

AlohaRptPrtExp1String=/R1/R1/R1/R1 AlohaRptPrtExp2String=/R2/R2/R2/R2 AlohaRptPrtExp3String=/R3/R3/R3/R3 AlohaRptPrtExp4String= AlohaRptPrtExp5String=

C. Post-export Batch file.

We will call this PostExport.BatPostExport.BatPostExport.BatPostExport.Bat. In AlohaSecureEOD.INI, AlohaRptPrtExpPostBatch=PostExport.Bat Coconut Code exports to the root Aloha folder which is where the Site wants to find it. However, they also want several grind files from the DOB placed in the root Aloha folder as well (then their daily routine copies it from there). Thus, the post-export batch is copies files from the DOB to the IBERDIR root folder. The batch will look something like this:

ECHO OFF CLS SET DOB=%1 COPY /Y %IBERDIR%\%DOB%\ADJTIME.DBF %IBERDIR% >NUL COPY /Y %IBERDIR%\%DOB%\ADJTIME.CDX %IBERDIR% >NUL COPY /Y %IBERDIR%\%DOB%\GNDITEM.DBF %IBERDIR% >NUL COPY /Y %IBERDIR%\%DOB%\GNDTDR.DBF %IBERDIR% >NUL COPY /Y %IBERDIR%\%DOB%\GNDREVN.DBF %IBERDIR% >NUL COPY /Y %IBERDIR%\%DOB%\GNDTURN.DBF %IBERDIR% >NUL

The Aloha Print and Export Tool for the last date o f business will:

1. Export of all Aloha Manager Payroll (legacy) formats including ADP, Paychex, PayUSA and ReMACs. 2. Export of all Aloha Manager sale export formats including Coconut Code and ReMACs.. 3. Export of all Aloha Manager Reports to the %IBERDIR%\RptExport folder. 4. Copy exported files to the History folder in Aloha. 5. Optionally (for Print/Export Job 1 only) run an external batch file where the DOB is passed as %1. 6. Optionally, delete the original exported files once copied to the History folder. 7. Execute unattended printing of supported Aloha Manager Reports.

The Aloha Print and Export Tool executes this command:

%IBERDIR%\BIN\Rpt.Exe /DATE %DOB% %AlohaRptPrtExpXXXXString% where

1. %DOB%%DOB%%DOB%%DOB% is the date of business which is passed by AlohaSecureEOD.EXE. 2. XXXX is 1-5—Corresponding to Job (String) 1 – 5 explained in the following sections.

Aloha Report Export and Print Tool Process Logic :

A. See if there is a Pre-Batch command configured. If yes, run it. If no, go the Job 1. B. Run Print/Export Job 1. C. Check for Print/Export Job 2. If it exists, run it. D. Copy exported files to the DOB folder.

. In our example, the site wants to do this. In AlohaSecureEOD.INI, set AlohaRptPrtExpCopyToDOB=YYYY

E. Delete the original export files.

In our example, the site does not want to do this. . In AlohaSecureEOD.INI, set AlohaRptPrtExpDeleteOriginal=NNNN

Note 2: Follow the configuration steps in defined in the NCR Knowledge base article regarding using this feature:

! Failure to pre-configure and test your routines in Aloha Manager before running them in

AlohaSecure.Exe may result in that event failing or “hanging” AlohaSecureEOD.Exe, thus

preventing the programfrom completing.

! If using this option for unattended printing, special setup in Windows is necessary.

! We advise as “best practices’ that a string is tested outside of AlohaSecureEOD.Exe (using

Winhook) before running. Note 3: Remember, AlohaSecureEOD.Exe is constructing the first part up to /Date DOB. %AlohaRptPrtExp1StringX% is the

final part of the command. Example:

If exporting the Sales Summary Report daily as comma-separated text using the Default Sales Report Template:

1. AlohaSecureEOD.Exe will provide: %Iberdir%\Bin\Rpt.EXE /Date %DOB% 2. AlohaRptExportString1 could be: /XC /LOAD "DEFAULT.SLS.SET"

Thus the final event executed by AlohaSecureEOD.Exe would be:

D:\Aloha\BIN\Rpt.Exe /DATE 20120301 /XC /LOAD "DEFAULT.SLS.SET"

Remember to use quotes (“”) as directed by the NCR Knowledge Base Articles.
