    This is a two day show in an indoor area. All alpacas to be penned by: 8.30am on Saturday 2nd November, and must remain for both days. Penning is available from 4pm to 8pm on Friday 1st November 2019

    1992 and circulated to all A&P Associations. It shall be deemed acceptable as if they had been reprinted in full in this schedule. A copy of these rules is available for perusal at the Secretary's office.

    ENTRIES CLOSE: Monday, 30th September 2019. Late entries will be accepted with a 50% penalty up till 5pm Friday 11th October 2019

    ENTRY FEES: $15 Breed & $10 Fleece unless otherwise stated. Please ensure you add up all your fees correctly and send your entry form to Waikato A & P Assoc. Alpaca Section (details above). Include payment or direct credit to Kiwibank: 38 9019 0519647 02

    CONFIRMATION OF ENTRIES: Confirmation of entries will be sent to each exhibitor once the entry has been received. If you have not received your confirmation within 14 working days after posting it, please call the office immediately.

    CATALOGUES: The cost of catalogues must be paid with entries. Catalogues can be picked up from your Chief Steward on the day of showing.

    GROUND FEES: Ground Fees of $3.00 per alpaca must be paid with entries.

    TICKETS will be posted with your exhibitor's letter.

    PUBLICATION OF EXHIBITOR'S NAME: Entry in the Show entitles the Association to publish Exhibitors names / photos in result reports and distribute with Exhibitor lists.

    PRIZE MONEY: Prize money will be paid by direct banking within four weeks i.e. 02/12/2019. If you have not received your prize money by this date, pleasenotify the office immediately. Notification must be made no later than the9/12/19. Notification after this date will not be considered.

    If promised sponsorship is not forthcoming the Association cannot be held liable. All entry fees and prize money are GST inclusive. ANY EXHIBITOR WHO FAILS TO COMPLY WITH THE RULES, MAY FORFEIT THEIR PRIZEMONEY.

    PROTEST: Any protest must be made within 1 hour of the completion of the class in writing, signed by the person making the complaint and delivered to the Secretary accompanied by $200 cash (CHEQUES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED) which will be refunded should the protest be upheld.

    YELLOW CARD AND FORBIDDEN SUBSTANCES a) The following text will appear on every affiliated A&P Show/Event Schedule.i. Yellow Card- This Show/Event supports the RAS 'Yellow Card' system. AYellow Card will be issued, in cases of offences in respect of abuse of animalsor inappropriate behaviour as per the RAS Constitution and the RAS Rules &Regulations/Bylaws including the Equestrian Rulebook, the RAS affiliatedShow/Event/registered Measuring Stand and their grounds and their dulyappointed delegates may deliver to the Person Responsible a Yellow WarningCard (either immediately or within 10 days of the show) which suspends anypenalty until possible new offences. Full wording of the 'Yellow Card' system isavailable to view on the RAS website – www.ras.org.nz.ii. Forbidden Substance - The Rules of the Royal A&P Society New Zealand inregard to Forbidden Substances apply. Competitors are advised that tests forforbidden substances may be carried out during the Show/Event and thattesting of all animals is at the person’s responsible risk.Forbidden Substance - Any substance capable of affecting the speed, stamina,courage or conduct of any animal by its action upon the central or peripheralnervous system or the cardio-vascular, respiratory, alimentary, digestive,musculoskeletal or urogenital systems.iii. Arrears – No person who is in arrears with regard to entry fees,subscriptions, or any other show/event charge is eligible to compete at anyaffiliated show/event. Proof of payment will be required before any restrictionis lifted.iv. Summary of RAS Resolution Process – the full process can be found on theRAS website www.ras.org.nz. The principle behind the process is to deal withthe matter as it comes to hand and in most cases it should be dealt withdirectly by the show. If the matter is in regards to an RAS official, the showmay request the assistance of RAS Head Office as to how to deal with this inan appropriate manner.

    LEGAL LIABILITY/ SUPERVISION & CONTROL OF ANIMAL/S: The Association's insurance policy does not cover Competitors or Exhibitors. Each exhibitor must supervise and control their animals at all times and shall be liable for any hazard created or accident, illness or damage caused by the

    action of themselves or their animals at the Showgrounds. Exhibitors must comply with the appropriate Animal Welfare Act 1999 which requires people to take all reasonable steps to ensure that the physical, health and behavioural needs of your animals are met in accordance with the good practice and scientific knowledge. Each species-specific code can be found at www.mpi.govt.nz/welfarecodes. Exhibitors must comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, for further information please visit www.worksafe.govt.nz/laws-and-regulations/acts/hswa/. No person is permitted in any judging ring without express permission from the Chief Steward of that ring. Only persons directly responsible for an Exhibit are permitted in the marshalling area.

    TEST AND TAG: Due to 2016 H&S Regulations and because Claudelands is a business property, all electrical leads and electrical appliances brought on to the property must have a current Test N Tag Electrical Certificate. Any lead or appliance not compliant will need to be tested and certified on site at the owner's cost.

    PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: The onus of responsibility for the accuracy of all entries lies solely with the exhibitor; who must ensure that each entry is eligible, that the animal or competitor is eligible and all details required for any class are fully and correctly stated on the entry form at the time entry is made.

    1. All alpacas have to be from herds that have current, valid and clear wholeherd certification. In addition individual alpacas attending shows fromherds situated inside TB movement controlled (endemic) areas have to havebeen tested clear of TB within 60 days of the show. Copies of TB certificatesare to be enclosed with the entry form.2. All alpacas entered in Championship Classes must be registered with the

    IAR and carry a brass ear tag displaying its corresponding IAR number.Copies of registration certificates are NOT required to be enclosed with theentry forms. All alpacas entered must appear on the AANZ IAR databaseby 23rd September 2019.

    3. The exhibitor is the owner(s) listed on the alpaca's registration certificate.In the case of a registered lease, the lessee is deemed the owner.

    4. The age of the alpaca is its age on the first day of the show (2ndNovember).5. All exhibitors or handlers must place their animals in the pens allotted bythe Convenor. Placement of animals in trade pens will only be done with thepermission of the Chief Steward.6. No animal shall be removed before the end of the show without thepermission of the Chief Steward. Any exhibitor in breach of this condition willbe ineligible for prize money.7. Prize money may be replaced with product or vouchers.8. If entries warrant, the Chief Steward may amalgamate or split classes.

    BBQ: There will be a BBQ on Saturday evening available for all exhibitors. The cost will be $15 (persons over 18) & $10 (persons under 18). Please indicate on entry form and include payment with entries.

    Duty Vet Vetora Waikato is the onsite vet at the show.

    If any aid is required for your animal during the show, Vetora will be onsite and oncall with specialist vets. All services provided by Vetora will be invoiced to client.

    NON-CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES Entry Fee: $10.00 Ribbons only will be presented in the following non-championship classes. Special sashes will be awarded to Classes 4480 - 4483.

    Class 4480 SIRES PROGENY (SURI) SPECIAL SASH This class is for the exhibiting of progeny from the same sire. The sire is not shown. Progeny are shown in groups of two and can be of mixed sex, age and colour but must have been shown in their respective Championship classes at the same show. Progeny can be owned by different exhibitors. This class is to be entered on the day of the show - the entry fee, sire’s name and the names of his progeny are to be registered with the Chief Steward before the commencement of the judging of the Special Classes.

    Class 4481 SIRES PROGENY (HUACAYA) SPECIAL SASH. Details as above.

    Class 4482 GET OF DAM (SURI) SPECIAL SASH This class is for the exhibiting of the progeny from the same dam. The dam is not shown. Progeny are shown in groups of two and can be of mixed sex, age and colour but must have been shown in their respective Championship classes at the same show. Progeny can be owned by different exhibitors.
