    Welcome!

Welcome and congratulations on being asked to join Alpha Omega Sigma & Alpha Omega Delta

Christian Fraternity & Sorority a subcid. We recruited men and women who possess the

characteristics that have become synonymous with being an Alpha in your city or at your

University but it does not mean that we intend to mold each pledge into a carbon copy of what

we consider to be the "ideal" brother/sister. In fact, one of the greatest strengths of our Org. is

its diversity. Every member brings new ideas and new insights, which help to distinguish

ourselves as the best fraternity at this University. Most importantly, all of this is accomplished

while maintaining our positive image and gentlemanly conduct.

My primary goal as your pledge educator is to set up a program during which you not only

learned about the fraternity, but one that impresses the ideals of our fraternity upon you so they

become a lasting influence for the rest of your life... thus our motto - "Once a Alpha , Always a

Alpha". (together we will set goals to help your pledge brothers/sisters, but also to the active

members of the house (still to come).) We will talk more about that later, but I just want to

inform you now, this term is going to be what you make it. So, I encourage you to give as much

time as you can to Alpha Omega Sigma & Alpha Omega Delta Christian Fraternity & Sorority,

both during this term and when you are active. The return you will receive will be much greater

than the investment of your time.

The pledge period is specifically designed to familiarize you with the benefits and

responsibilities of membership. The pledges must immediately realize that a serious and devoted

sense of proper behavior and responsibility toward the brothers and toward all non-brothers is a

vital part to the longevity of Alpha Omega Sigma & Alpha Omega Delta Christian Fraternity &

    Sorority.

Since you have accepted the bid to be a part of our Fellowship, you are now as much of a

representative of Alpha Omega Sigma & Alpha Omega Delta Christian Fraternity & Sorority as

the present members. Therefore, it is necessary that each of you realize that the Greek system

and campus relations rest on your shoulders as well. Failure to display proper conduct at all

times may result in the termination of your associate term. Our fellowship seeks

student/members that are leaders. Members who are searching for "friendship on a firmer and

more lasting basis," people with character and unique personalities, sound morals arid values,

and a unity that will always strive to better ourselves and surroundings. The brothers/sisters

who feel that you have the capability to fulfill these high ideals, which were set forth by our

organizations founding father. The opportunity for great experiences and lasting memories will

be provided by the hard work and dedication of the fellowship. It is your duty and responsibilityto yourself and your pledge members to take advantage of all the available programming. You

will undoubtedly take away more than you put into your Fraternity experience at Alpha Omega

    Program Overview

The strongest Organizations (Fellowships) on (in) any campus, city or church are the

chapters whose members enjoy the most prestige as undergraduates and later in life.

These are the Organizations (Fellowships) that treat each individual with respect and

treat them as a brother/sister. They are strong because they do not have cliques withinthe organization (fellowship). They do not indulge in activities that make them have ill

feeling toward each other. The Chapter does not believe in breaking members down in

order to build them back up, instead, chooses to build on where the new members are

and offer continued growth and development.

One of the most challenging yet rewarding positions in the Fraternity and or Sorority is

the Pledge Educator. As Pledge Educator, I am an essential element in the development

and eventual success of the chapters membership. As the Pledge Educator I will do my

best to offer you great an opportunity to inspire future leaders in the chapter. My role as

the Pledge Educator is to be a continual motivator, maintain an organized program, andto educate the chapter membership on the immense benefits to be gained from an

    effective pledge education program.

    Pledge Educator & Committee

As the pledge educator my role is one of a teacher, requiring a maximum of time and

responsibility. In the eyes of these new members, I am Alpha Omega Sigma & Alpha

Omega Delta Christian Fraternity & Sorority. I must lead you as new members as a role

model, because every thing I do will be viewed by you the new members as the right

thing to do. It is important that this program is organized, providing an open network

between members and new members. The success of this program can be measured

through the pledge retention rate, pledge class grade point average, and by what kind of

    leaders the pledge class produces.

When developing the chapters pledge education program it is important that the

emphasis is on consistency of communication with the chapter and the pledge class. As

chairman I need to feel comfortable with my interpersonal skills and your ability to stay

true to what is right if members want to influence how you educate the new members.

You are the point man or woman for motivating the chapter to demonstrate a positive

environment and to help members understand the importance of a positive pledge

education program. As the leader of the committee you are the main liaison between thechapter and the pledge class.

Alpha Omega Sigma & Alpha Omega Delta Standards

    Member Conduct

Proper ConductYou are not here to create a super human group of pledges. We want this experience to be a verypositive one for you. I hope that you understand that you are now apart of an organization that strives tobe the best. We want our reputation on campus to be the best as well as in the community as a whole. The main reason fraternities around the country have gotten such a bad reputation is because a fewmembers act first and think second. I want you to do yourself a favor always think before you act. In otherwords, seek to understand, and then to be understood. I want to ask yourself a few questions before youdo anything out of the ordinary.

Is my action potentially harmful to others or myself around me? Am I making a good impression on all people aroundme by participating in this action? Would I be proud to tell my parents aboutwhat I am doing? Would I be proud to tell my pledge educa tor (me) about what I am doing? Would I be proud to tell the entire chapter that I have participated in such an activity?

If by answering these questions you come to the conclusion that whatever you are doing is acceptable, byall means participate. However, if you have one thread of' doubt, don't participate. The main issue withproper conduct is using your head in all situations. Remember just because you are away from homedon't allow yourself to forget what your parents or elders have instilled in you. In other words never forgetwho you are or where you come from.

Alpha Omega Sigma & Alpha Omega Delta is an organization that promotes scholarship, service, outreach, and pride among its membership. As members of this Fraternity & Sorority we have all chosento be an active part of an elite group of men/women.

To a great extent, like it or not, in our society people are often judged by the manner in which theyrepresent themselves. The first impression you give to others will be the longest lasting impression. Thisis particularly true in rush, in certain social and organizational settings, and in the business world.Dressing appropriately for a particular occasion can help you feel better about yourself and thus allow youto be at your best. Those who are successful, In most cases, tend to dress well, in good taste, and in linewith the norms established for those in their particular careers.

Important Information On Being a Gentleman/Lady

Only one kind of person in the world can turn his back on good manners.

This is the person who will never need another's influence, never need a customer or a

client, never need human understanding, never be lonely, never fall in love, never wantto share a moment with another, and never want a home or a son of his own.

The conduct of fraternity men or a sorority sister marks, in great measure, the weakness

or the strength of his / her fraternity. / sorority. An unfavorable opinion by outsiders is

often formed as a result of thoughtless action both inside and outside the chapter. If we

are to impress the true organizational ideals upon those who observe us, we must take

stock of ourselves; we must live up to the Chapter and House rules which are

sometimes considered lightly by some thoughtless members or pledges not mindful of

    the trust reposed in them.

Proper conduct is part of the foundation of all success in fraternity / sorority and

chapters within the organization. In its absence, the benefits of fraternity are only

partially realized. Harmony is lost and factional division (that archenemy of fraternalism)

can gain a foothold. Therefore, it is our duty, as Alpha (and Alpha pledges), as a unit,

and as an individual to care for our reputation.

Respectfulness of men and women is a responsibility of all Alphas (both male and

female). You are aspiring to wear the letters and badge of Alpha Omega Sigma (or)

Alpha Omega Delta; therefore, live up to its ideals.

In the chapter where we learn these ideals and the purposes of our beloved fraternity /sorority should not be desecrated in any manner that will bring criticism to your name or

that of Alpha Omega Sigma (or) Alpha Omega Delta.

Remember that when you intake is over you have just begain to represent who you are

as a believer of the word you not only represent God (The Most High) you represent this

    organizion and yourself.

    What we believe in

WE BELIEVE (The Father the Son & the Holy Spirit)

That God is the Creator of heaven and earth (Genesis 1:1, John 1:3). He is The Supreme Beingwho has always existed and always will exist (Revelations 1:8). He created man in His image

and His likeness (Genesis 1:26). WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God

WE BELIEVE the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Living God. He was sent to us when Jesus

ascended to be with the Father. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer at the point of salvation

sealing us into the Body of Christ (Ephesians 1:13-14, Romans 8:11). He baptizes after

    salvation (Acts 8:14-17, 19:1-7), comforts and teaches (John 14:16-26, 1 Corinthians 2:9-13),

helps us to pray (with or without the ability to speak in an unknown tongue. Romans 8:26-28)

and allows us to be witnesses of God (Acts 1:8).

    Fellowship

    While Christ was alive,

He was moved with compassion to heal the sick and, through His death, our infirmities

and sins are covered and we are healed. He died in order to restore fellowship with God.

Therefore, in serving Christ, we become servants of all mankind.

"That which we have seen and heard, declare we unto you. That ye also may

have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the father, and his Son Jesus

    Christ."1 John 1:3

    Discipleship

Through discipleship we hope to strengthen, teach, and help one another.

"Which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every

man in all wisdom; that we may present every man, perfect in Christ Jesus?"Colossians 1:27-28Go ye

therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the

Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things

whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of

    the world. Amen."Matthew 28:19-20

    Foundations

In this part of your manual you will learn what we stand for as an

organization. In this section of the E.D. (Epic Dynasty) you will have

4 important segments. These segments will help you as the pledge

member to understand why we do what we do and how we do it.

    1) We will see who God is to us and what He means to us.

2)You as a pledge will have to learn our 4 Elements and what

they mean to this body of people. How they play a part in the

up keep of the unity in The Alpha Omega Family of

    Organizations.

3)We will look at the 7 spirits of God. And how we as a family

are to use these spirits in and outside of the organizations. By

this you will find that when things come up in life you know

how you react and bounce back.

4)As a family we will look at the creation of this Family of

Organizations though the story of The Dawning of Creation in

Gen. 1. In doing so we will find how God moved on the hearts

and minds of our Founding Fathers and Mother

    1 Corinthians 12:12-31

Unity and Diversity in the Body12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one

body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by[a] one Spirit so as to form

one bodywhether Jews or Gentiles, slave or freeand we were all given the oneSpirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.

15Now if the foot should say, Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to thebody, it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. 16 And if the earshould say, Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body, it would not forthat reason stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, wherewould the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would thesense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one ofthem, just as he wanted them to be. 19 If they were all one part, where would thebody be? 20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

21The eye cannot say to the hand, I dont need you! And the head cannot say tothe feet, I dont need you!22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seemto be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorablewe treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated withspecial modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But Godhas put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 sothat there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equalconcern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one partis honored, every part rejoices with it.

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it
