contrary to conventional wisdom—especially when it comes to weddings—they don’t always have to be white. Working together with your decor, creative linen combinations including tablecloths, napkins, chair

covers and chair ties can truly help bring your party to life.

“Similar to interior design, following your personal palette and style is a great starting point with linens,” says Rachel Smiley, co-owner of Alpine Party Rentals. “For example, if a bride’s dress is more edgy and modern, something more non-traditional than

design,” says Smiley. Mixing and matching different fabrics with colors and patterns is another strong trend, but much like staging a luxurious living space, the combinations must strike a clear level of harmony.

“A mixture of textures and colors is always fun, but you have to be careful about getting too random,” says JoAnn Moore, Owner and Operator of Mountains and Meadows Event Planning. “Linens should always align with your personality. With the right selections you can make people stop to catch their breath when they walk into a party.”

Sequins have made a sparkling recent comeback while metallics remain a way to add depth, especially when paired with a neutral or bright hue. Subtle accents of radiant orchid—Pantone’s 2014 color of the year—are also very popular. For that rustic-chic-

meets-mountain-modern look, burlap is the texture of choice. And for something that bears a striking resemblance to the real thing but

without all the shedding, try the faux burlap.

Remember: Linens help breathe life and personality into your party. Let your linens set a truly personal tone and make your celebration one to remember.

event look so easy: Just pull together a venue with wow-factor that’s comfortable for your guests, flawlessly coordinated color schemes, gorgeous decorations and seasonal menus all punctuated

with imaginative personal flair. Envisioning your special

day like this is simple. But actually pulling it off and enjoying it when problems arise—and problems can arise—is a tall order.

Too often, event hosts “underestimate the inevitable hiccups that come with large

events, and overestimate their capacity to handle them,” says professional event planner JoAnn Moore of Mountains and Meadows Events in Vail, Colorado. Hosts often see hiring a coordinator as an unnecessary expense in a long list of pricey line items. The irony, Moore points out, is that a qualified and experienced professional can actually save you money.

IN THE KNOWConsider that this is very likely the first—and only—large event you’ll ever plan. Professional party planners, however, do it all day, everyday. They work with local vendors regularly—DJs, florists, hotels and caterers—which means they know who’s reputable and who isn’t. And, they’re often able to negotiate discounts or service bundles on your behalf.

(01) PAYMENT TERMS: Payment arrangements are required when APR takes the rental order and confirms the date(s) specified. APR requires a minimum 50% deposit on the total balance at this time to confirm the contract. (02) TERMS OF RENTAL AND RETURN: The “Rental Period” for equipment is the period of time beginning on the date and at the time specified as “RESERVED DATE” and ending on the date and at the time specified as “EVENT END DATE.” (03) RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT: Client is responsible for the equipment from the time Client takes possession of the equipment until the equipment is returned to APR. Additionally, Client agrees to assume all risks inherent in the operation and the use of the equipment. (04) ORDER CANCELLATION/MODIFICATION POLICY: If Client’s rental order includes equipment, tenting, or special order items, Client must give 30 days advance notice to cancel and/or make changes to this portion of the special order. (05) INSPECTION/USE OF ITEMS: Client agrees that Client is satisfied with the instructions given by APR for the proper and safe use of the equipment, or that Client is familiar with the equipment and has so informed APR. (06) MALFUNCTIONS: Client will notify APR immediately if the equipment should become unsafe or stop functioning properly so that we can document and correct the problem if possible.

If you don’t have what I am looking for, can you find it?

The staff at Alpine Party Rentals will do their best to locate the items you request. Please be aware that if an item is not in our regular inventory, there may be additional fees involved in acquiring specialty pieces.

Can I rent the tent from you and set it up myself?

Our 10’ x 10’ “pop up” tents can be installed by our customers. The rest of our frame and tension tents need to be installed by our professional installation crews who are trained to safely and securely set our tents in most locations.

What happens if I lose or break a rental item?

It’s not a party until something gets broken! Which is why we recommend taking advantage of our damage waiver. It is included in every quote and will cover the accidental broken glass or plate. Having the damage waiver will prevent you from worrying about the replacement cost of the items you have rented. Our professional staff take great care in delivering you precisely every item you have ordered, and we prefer to have them all returned in the same condition. Inevitably, accidents happen, and with the damage waiver you won’t have to worry about a missing fork or a stained linen. Please understand that our waiver will not cover negligence or theft. Call us if you need any clarification regarding our damage waiver policy.

Does Alpine Party Rentals provide wedding/event coordination services?

Yes and no. We will provide you with our expertise to guide you in your selection of our rental products and services to fit the location of your choice. We will provide necessary rentals for your caterer, florist, and band, but we will not coordinate between all of these entities. Alpine will set tents, heating, lighting, dance floors, stages and a few other items. However, APR will not set chairs, tables, linens, and service items.

Why can’t I just rent the exact number of glasses, plates, or flatware that I need?

We rent these items in pack or rack quantities because of storage and ease of delivery. If we break quantities it is impossible for us to keep an accurate inventory upon delivery, pick up, and storage of the items.

Do I need to wash rental items?

No, but you do need to remove any food or beverages from the item. We request that you rinse any items but it will receive a thorough wash and inspection when it arrives at our warehouse.

SHOWROOM RESOURCESThe Alpine Party Rentals showroom and warehouse are conveniently located in Gypsum, Colorado near the Eagle County Airport.
