our step by step process for the production of products:

1Orders are placed in writing and acknowledged by one of our representatives. 2Products then undergo design

service where we use tailor-made software to design. 3 Production starts from the

manufacturing of the frame, where we use wood of the highest quality .

4The product then enters the second phase of manufacturing where the foam and fabric of your

choice is applied.

5 The product is then given the finishing touches before being wrapped and delivered. 6 The installation is seamlessly

supported by quality craftsmanship and diligent project management.

We supervise the production of all furniture to ensure that our outstanding standards are observed, from the careful selection of materials to the hand crafting of each individual piece. Your sales associate informs you of the progress of your order, and is happy to arrange for you to visit the workshop so you can personally oversee your product being made.

the upholstererThe Upholsterer holds a large range of different skills within one modest title. His hands are experts in springing, padding, fixing, stretching, smoothing, stuffing, tacking and finishing each bespoke piece.

the seamstressThe seamstress is the ‘dressmaker of furniture’, fitting fabrics perfectly together. To be able to align the fabrics and make the right stitching for each bespoke piece, this process requires an exceptional eye for detail.

the cutterThe Cutter is the tailor of all our furniture and comes from a unique upholstery background. With a steady hand he maps the design to scale and ensures the vital design details are delivered such as the fabric direction and the velvet pile.

the carpenterThe Carpenter carves and cuts the beechwood intricately to build a strong frame for each piece. Building the foundations the Carpenter needs to have the final bespoke design completed in his mind, before cutting the first piece of wood.

Alter London presents a range of ottomans which can be tailored to suit any interior room set. Alternatively they can provide optional seating as a stand alone piece. Designed and handcrafted in our West London Factory, each piece can be customised in a vast range of fabrics, stud and wood finishes. Most of our footstools, ottomans, pouffes and blanket boxes are part of our different seating series.
