Alumni Career Survey Report for Fall 2016 College of Education
February, 2017
University of Houston-Clear Lake Office of Institutional Effectiveness Alumni Career Survey Fall 2016 Summary In fall 2015, the offices of Institutional Effectiveness, Alumni Relations, and Career Services formed a committee to revise the old Alumni Survey into a more useful tool to meet the data needs. The new Alumni Career Survey was built to capture the alumni experience at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) nine months after graduation and to determine the way their higher education helped establish their professional careers. The online Alumni Career Survey was conducted in the fall semester of 2016 using Qualtrics survey software and iModules; it was launched in October 16 and ended on December 16, 2016. All alumni with current email addresses in iModules who graduated nine months ago were invited to participate in the survey. The alumni data can be divided by school, by degree level, by gender, by ethnicity, by program or any of the above combinations. The average completion time for the survey was 10 minutes. The next five pages contain a short summary of data points by UHCL and by individual schools collected Fall 2016 in the Alumni Career Survey. Complete survey results are posted online at http://prtl.uhcl.edu/institutional-effectiveness/institutional-research/university-survey.

Please explain:
Text Entry
However, I would choose Alternative Certification Program because these students are paid during their internshipsAND are hired directly after their internships usually for the same classroom.
Going for a doctorate degree, being so far away frum UHCL is daunting.
It gave me the knowledge and skills needed for me in my job.
However, I would choose alternative certification in lieu of Internship because I would be paid and I have a higherchance of being employed than with Internship.
Not enough assistance with job placement especially for graduates in the Fall semester.

However, I would choose alternative certification in lieu of Internship because I would be paid and I have a higherchance of being employed than with Internship. Furthermore, with alternative certification we are paid during thecourse of study.
Finding permanent employment as a Bilingual Teacher has been difficult. Seems that it is not what you know, butwho you know is more important than skills.
However, I would choose Alternative Certification Program because these students are paid during their internshipsAND are hired directly after their internships usually for the same classroom.

But I recommend they go through alternative certification at the end instead of internship. Plus with alternativecertification you receive more time to pass your state exams and you don't have to wait out a semester.
I still think it is good education for the money. The campus is beautiful.
I still love the campus and feel that the costs at UHCL are more reasonable than other colleges. Plus I love the smallclasses and that the professors know who you are and are helpful.
