We have been honored to serve as co-presidents of the Alumni Group of Newcomers over the last two years. It’s time, however, to pass that responsibility to someone else who will lead this group going forward. Additionally, a number of other officers will be stepping down at the end of our activity year in May. We want to recognize and thank the following officers for their service to AGN:
VP, Programs Linda StoutSecretary: Mary Lou SnyderCo-Treasurers: Keith & Lori JacksonMembership Director: Carole McHale
At this writing, two members have indicated their willingness to fill the VP, Programs and Treasurer positions. We’re still seeking candidates for president, secretary, and membership director. These positions don’t require a great deal of time and are tremendously important to the success of the AGN. We hope you will consider serving in one of these capacities. If you have questions about what they entail feel free to contact the current officer or either of us. We hope to have a full slate of nominees to present at the March 11th meeting.

Wine tasting and food pairings are made easier when attending a professionally-planned event. Our group meets throughout the year to sample 4 to 6 wines, hosted in members’ homes, restaurants, and wine shops. A great opportunity to taste world wines and learn about the vineyards and grapes used in their production.
Any checks should be made out to AGN Wine Group, unless otherwise specified, and send to

the 1890's, a farm water tower as well as a 1915 Hamilton steam engine and more.
They can accommodate any number but we do need to know if you are planning to attend
so that they proper number of tour guides available. This is a private showing for our
group only. They are asking for a $4 or 5 donation to help with upkeep.
After the tour, we will be enjoying lunch at a yet to be determined location. Please email

Purpose: The Newcomers/Alumni Bicycling Group is for those individuals who like to get exercise while
enjoying the scenery around New Bern. We feature 'no drop' rides--which means we don't leave anyone behind!
We have been working to design options that allow more serious bikers to enjoy a longer distance at a faster pace,
but also provide a choice for more leisurely riders to go at a more comfortable pace. We take breaks as needed.
Routes will vary, allowing participants the chance to see different neighborhoods and the surrounding countryside
Requested Gear:
1. A working bicycle (brakes, gears) with adequate safety items - lights, reflectors
2. A helmet is strongly recommended.
3. Carry adequate water (minimum – 1 pt. / 500 ml).
4. Casual clothing (shorts) and top with bright colors.
Air pumps and/or lights are an option.
Meeting Place:
A group email, including directions to a starting point, is sent out for weekend rides.
