Dear Alumni members,I am glad to see that a news letter is being brought out in connection with the 50th annual general body meeting of TKMCE Alumni Association. The meeting carries tremendous importance since the technical education in our state is passing through major transformations. The quality of education, the employability of graduates and performance of graduates in their respective fields are accounted as components of equal importance in global systems for accreditation. So alumni associations like ours with a rich tradition have a lot to play. Engineering and technology bring a wide realm of swift changes to the life due to the untiring researches that are taking place across the world. Naturally our contribution in building a new world will be evaluated by civil society and the generations to come. Hence new avenues of research and development are to be brought into the campus and more collaboration is to be made with the industrial world. In fact, the management and the faculty have put some efforts in recent years by making infrastructure and bringing projects in many novel areas of technology. At this juncture, our alumni have to rise to the occasion and support their alma mater in addressing the needs of the institutions to achieve our social goals…. I wish this venture all success

Dear Alumni,
I wish all of you a successfu l year ahead...
As you are aware, TKM College of E n g i n e e r i n g i s proud to support a
s t r o n g a l u m n i network that extends across many continents. The recent initiation of Alumni chapter in Tanzania is a notable achievement in this direction. The enthusiasm that our alumni have shown in the developmental activities of the alma-mater was very much visible in the recent annual get-together meetings at UAE and Kuwait. The overwhelming support we received from these chapters is worth mentioning. We need to develop activities that may ensure and foster mutually beneficial interactions between TKM College Trust, faculty, alumni and our present students. It is worth mentioning that globally, alumni associations are becoming more and more popular as educational institutions receive moral, emotional and financial supports from them. Of late, the recent advancements in the infrastructural facilities of many reputed institutions of the world would not have been possible without the laudable support from their alumni. It is high time for us to initiate an action plan in this direction by proposing avenues for our alumni to play a role in the developmental activities of our college and in the mentoring of our students.
Standing on the position of hope, I feel our parent chapter may refine and re-orient our activities so as to ensure the fullest support from all branches wide across the globe. I request, the alma-mater and all other chapters to frame an action plan in this direction. I hope the central theme of this get-together and deliberations in the meeting may focus more on deriving proposals for ensuring a more fruitful association between the stake holders...
I wish this annual get-together and 'alumni times' all success..
Dr. S. Ayoob

that was given by our College that kept us united and oneness at heart, which kept the flame lit and zest to gather back to our nest. Even though we graduated from different disciplines we always felt that we are all one family, it did not matter where and how we are in our professional lives. The spirit of unity imparted from the college kept us together. This was also an opportunity to meet our Friends some after 25 years. Also gave us an opportunity to show our next generation children how we valued and respected our relationship with our teachers, college and management. Silver Jubilee Year of 1986-1990 Batch
A note of thanks and gratitude to the TKM Management, College and Faculty from our heart. We are extremely proud to be an Alumnus of this great institution. Looking back to day we started at TKM College of Engineering to the day we graduated, we owe a lot to this college, it’s Founder, Management and Faculty for moulding us into who & what we are today. We can never forget the words of wisdom, encouragement and guidance we received from the Faculty. Not that we were all saints during those days, at a time and age when we feel we were right and parents and teachers are wrong. The faculty, teachers and campus were patient enough, guided us and gave us the opportunity to grow our skills to face the tough world outside. When we were planning to celebrate our batch’s S i l v e r J ub i l e e Ge t toge the r, t he encouragement and support we received from the teachers and management was heart warming. Even at short notice - The Chairman and Teachers accepted our invitation, graced the event and blessed us with their presence and congratulated us on our Silver Jubilee of Graduation. We will always cherish this in our memories for the rest of our lives. We were a generation that graduated with NO - EMAIL, WHATSAPP, TWITTER or MOBILE PHONES, Years before internet came to India, a time when we only had a Postal Address that never moved with you and a home phone number which too changed adding digits. With the minimal data and contact info we had of our batch mates, from a total strength of 400+ who were all in one spirit and one at heart, scattered all across the globe. We managed to use the modern tools of communication to gather 200+ of our batch mates with family, to spare 2 days of our life to say thanks to our Teachers, College and Management. Even we had two of our Tanzanian batch mates attend our get together ‘REWIND 2015’. Those who could not attend were mostly due to work or other commitments. It’s the environment

Career Guidance from a Traditional Industry Point of View
Career Guidance from a Traditional Industry Point of View. The talk was conducted by Pradeep Kumar and was held at the PTA hall from 3pm to 6pm. He pointed out the enormous gap between what you learn and what you need to do at an industry and also to make that gap stringent. His story of the growth from a fresher worker to a man owning a core company abroad was really inspiring. From the start to the end the talk was filled with motivation, ideas and techniques to achieve better in life .He also came up with graphs of career growth which was something new for everyone present there. He explained that those with mere soft skills can have the same career growth as those with both tech and soft skills.
The audience never came across such a talk where real life situations are so openly discussed. He pointed out certain skills which makes one a good engineer. Some of it included soft skill, reasoning, ability to survive worst scenarios, tech basics, practical approach to everything and humanitarian considerations.

Women Empowerment Throught Entrenuership
Mrs. Bindu Sunil, Technical Director at GeostructuralsPvt Ltd., Ernakulam, in her session explained about the importance and necessity of women empowerment through education ,economic independence and entrepreneurship. She also highlighted the challenges faced by women professionals adding that passion ,confidence ,basics and determination are the key to successes .
The subject of empowerment of women has becoming a burning issue all over the world including India since last few decades. Women want to have for themselves the same strategies of change which menfolk have had over the centuries such as equal pay for equal work. Their quest for equality has given birth to the formation of many women’s associations and launching of movements.Fostering entrepreneurship is a key policy goal for governments of all countries which share the expectation that high rates of entrepreneurial activity will bring sustained job creation and boost the development of new products, processes, and organisational innovation. Public policies to promote female entrepreneurship includes fostering a gender neutral legal framework for business, reducing administrative burdens on firms and excessive regulatory restrictions.
