a. 26th Annual Spelling Bee Winner: Justin Balido, a seventh grade student at Villegas Middle School was recognized as the winner of the 26th Annual Spelling Bee. b. Reflections 2003-2004 Award Winner: Noelle Whitlock of Orrenmaa Elementary School was recognized for being an Award of Merit winner for photography at the 23rd District PTA Reflections Award Night. Hearing Session: President Pérez extended an invitation to the audience to present matters to the Board on items not on the Agenda. The following individual came forward:

AUSD – Minutes – Meeting of April 15, 2004

Action Taken in Closed Session: Zack Earp, Clerk, reported that in Closed Session the Board took action to confirm the nonrenewal of the contract of an Assistant Superintendent, identified by #137370, effective June 30, 2004, and directed the Superintendent or designee to send out appropriate legal notices. The vote was: Ayes – 5 Noe – 0 Board Workshop Facilities Master Plan Update: Paul Jessup, Superintendent, and John Nichols of HMC Group, provided an update on the development of the District’s Facilities Master Plan including enrollment projections and current facility capacity analysis. District Budget Update: Paul Jessup, Superintendent, presented the initial assumptions utilized in the development of the District Budget for fiscal year 2004-2005. Action Items: The following Consent Agenda items were presented for approval: 5.a. Approve Minutes:

Minutes of the Regular Board meeting of April 1, 2004 and the Special Board meeting of April 9, 2004. 5.b. Accept Gifts 1) Rosemary Kennedy PTA donated $1,540.00 to Rosemary Kennedy

Elementary School for the 5th grade end-of-the-year field trip.

2) Twinhill PTA donated $5,300.00 to Twinhill Elementary School to be used for study trips and Physical Education equipment for the Sparks P.E. Program.

3) Target Stores donated $161.69 from their Credit Card Bonus for Schools

Program to Twinhill Elementary School. 5.c. Approve Purchase Order List Number 16-2003-04 5.d. Approve Agreement for Crossing Guard Services with Riverside County The following individuals come forward to address this item:
