The Edwards Catalog 6000AMFM-PA Cassette Player with pream-

plifier is a rack mount unit designed for use with the Edwards 6000-

MPAMP Mixer Preamplifier. This unit provides a single channel out-

put from one or all five inputs. A mixer/preamp section selects and/

or mixes up to four external inputs and one internal source. The

preamp section is equipped with a master gain control and output

level LED indicator. A monitor speaker and volume control are pro-

vided for input selection, cueing, and level adjustment. A master

on/off switch with indicator controls unit power. A priority enable

circuit allows giving one input priority over all others. A bridging cir-

cuit is provided to increase the number of available program

sources. The unit features an AM-FM tuner with a cassette tape for

standard size cassettes. An auto reverse feature allows the cas-

sette player to automatically play both sides of a cassette.

The Edwards Catalog 6000-AMFMCAS Cassette Player is a rack

mount unit designed for use with the Edwards 6000-MPAMP Mixer

Preamplifier. This unit features a quality tuner and deluxe casette

player. The design combines a sensitive AM-FM tuner with a

cassette player for standard size cassettes. An autoreverse

feature allows the cassette player to automatically play both sides

of a cassette.

The unit operates on 120VAC at .3A obtained from the host system

power supply; the output level is 1V RMS into a 600ohm load. The

unit features AM and FM Band, tuning, on, off, volume, seek, bass,

trebel, preset station selector (1-5), eject, rewind, and fast forward

Edwards Power Amplifiers are rated at either 60, 125 or 250 Watts

(RMS) and mount into standard 19-inch (48.3 cm) wide equipment

racks. All Edwards amplifiers are UL 813 Listed and can be used in

The 6000-125AMP-FP and the 6000-250AMP-FP provide either a

continuous 125 Watt or 250 Watt output with the ability to automati-

switching in and out of battery operation while still maintaining

state-of-the-art performance.

Touch-to-Talk DeskMicrophone & Stand

The Edwards Desktop Microphone Catalog 6000-DM is ideal for

paging and communications in applications such as restaurants,

schools, and dispatching operations. The microphone has an on/off

switch operated via a fingertip control bar that provides momentary

or locking switch operation. The on/off switch includes a set of con-

tacts prewired for remote relay operation. The height of the 6000-DM

is adjustable. The unit is made of durable, high impact Armo-Dur.

The microphone can be used in high or low impedance applications

and has a switch on the underside of the base for selecting the im-

Mixer Preamplifier& Input Devices

The Edwards Mixer Preamplifier Catalog 6000-MPAMP has the ca-

pacity to accept up to eight programmed inputs using Edwards In-

put modules and a bridging transformer input. The bridging input

allows parallel operation with another 6000-MPAMP. The unit's

modular concept enhances the ability of the system designer to

package the Mixer Preamplifier to specific design criteria.

The 6000-MPAMP circuity maintains low distortion (THD) and high

signal-to-noise ratio. The Mixer/Preamplifier has dual, single-ended

outputs that can be converted into an active, balanced output. The

dual outputs are desirable for driving individual channel amplifiers.

The 6000-MPAMP allows for priority muting.

The unit can be mounted in any standard 19" (48.3cm) equipment

rack. For 42" wall cabinet mounting, order Cat. No. 6000-MR-42; for

The Edwards Multitone Generator Catalog 6000-MTG is a solid

state tone generator capable of operating from either 12VDC or

24VDC. The unit can produce seven separate and distinct signals:

wail, warble, hi-lo, alarm, repeating chimes, single chime, and tone.

The unit is equipped with a pitch control that affects the chimes and

the tone functions. The volume control affects all functions.

Edwards Re-entrant speakers are available in 15 or 30 Watt continu-

ous output models. All models have a screwdriver adjustable

switch that can be externally adjusted to numerous output settings.

Both the 15 and 30 Watt models have a 25V as well as a 70V line.

The 15 Watt 6000-15RS-25/70 features a sound pressure level of

116dB at 1 meter on axis. Sound dispersion is 115 degrees (-6dB,

1000Hz), 70 degrees (-6dB, 2000Hz), and 40 degrees (-6dB,

4000Hz) octave band. The 70V line can be selected to 15, 7.5, 3.8,

Edwards 6000 Series Baffled Speakers are high quality unit that

feature a tastefully constructed steel baffle that blends well with

modern interiors. The speaker assembly includes a dual voltage 70

and 25-volt matching transformer. The transformer has taps of 1/2,

1, 2, and 4 watts at 70 volts and 1/2, 1, and 2 watts at 25 volts.

The 15 Watt 6000-15S-8-25/70 has an additional apex whizzer cone

for extended high frequency response.

The 15 Watt 6000-15S-8-25/70 features a 1 inch (2.5cm) voice coil

with an 8 ohm impedance. The unit's ceramic magnet weighs 10 oz

(283g). Axial Sensitivity is 95dB at 1 meter.

The 8 Watt 6000-8S-8-25/70 features a 3/4 inch (2cm) voice coil

AdministrativeTelephone

The Edwards 7000-CHS-SP provides access to all the features of

the Edwards integrated communications system. The 16 character

LDC display shows all telephone, intercom, and paging status

information related to the unit. Ring tones are locally generated and

produce cadences distinctive to the type of incoming call. Ringer

volume settings can be adjusted to high, low, or off.

The 28 pushbuttons include a 12-button standard telephone keypad,

one speaker phone button, one push-to-talk button, and one volume

up/down switch. One menu button, eight programmable general-

purpose function keys and four programmable special function keys

are also included.

Two-way intercom communications to a room speaker can be

privately conducted through the handset via a voice-activated

switch (VOX), or through the built-in microphone and speaker using

the push-to-talk switch (TALK) for manual audio direction control.

Telephone conversations can be privately conducted through the

handset, or though the built-in microphone and speaker in hands-

free (auto) or push-to-talk (manual) mode. Voice and music speaker

operations have 16 possible volume settings. One-way paging to

speakers can either be conducted through the handset or through

the microphone in the hands-free or push-to-talk mode.

Each Edwards 7000-CHS-SP requires two shielded 22 AWG pair for

audio and data and one 18AWG pair for power. The field wiring

terminates at the Edwards unit with a factory-supplied modular

receptacle. All field wires terminate at the central equipment

location to a customer-provided distribution punch block. Maximum

distance from the 7000-CHS-SP to the central equipment rack is

1,000 feet (305m).

Intercom Telephone

The Edwards 7000-CHS is an attractive, two-piece design intercom

telephone whose neutral color blends in with any institutional or

commercial environment. The unit features three programmable,

one-touch dialing buttons. These buttons can be programmed to

allow one-button dialing. They can also be programmed as call-in

buttons. Up to nine additional frequently called numbers can be

stored in memory. The memory is protected by a long-life lithium

battery.

A redial button allows one-touch dialing of the last number called.

The flash button can be used to activate system calling features

such as call transfer and call forwarding. A ringer volume control

allows adjustment of the ring tone volume to suit the surrounding

environment. Many functions found on the 7000-CHS-SP are also

The Edwards 7000-HSD is a heavy duty industrial handset (with

dial) that is built to stand up to adverse conditions. It is designed

with a vandal resistant 12-button metal keypad, armored cord

including an anchored lanyard of aircraft steel and encapsulated

circuit boards that are impervious to water and condensation.

Magnetic reed hook switches reduce internal moving parts. All

stainless steel fittings are rust proof and resistant to corrosion.

The Edwards 7000-HS meets the same high standards as the 7000-

HSD and is ideal for wet, corrosive, noisy or tough use areas. The

circuitry is water, dust, and weatherproof. It has been designed to

endure high usage in damp or corrosive conditions. The 7000-HS is

the same as the 7000-HSD but does not have a built-in dialer. Many

functions on the 7000-CHS-SP are also present on these models.

The Edwards 7000-INCOM vandal resistant intercom station is a

rugged device designed for the abuse of industrial workplaces. The

unit features stainless steel faceplates and tamper resistant hard-

ware.

The station includes a speaker that operates as both a speaker and

a microphone to provide two-way voice communication with a cen-

tral station.

The Edwards 7000-STA Series are Local Operating Network (LON)

based, multi-channel, microprocessor-controlled communications

systems. The systems are capable of simultaneously handling tele-

phone conversations, intercom, program, and page distribution us-

ing standard DTMF telephones with electronic ringers, Edwards Ad-

ministrative Telephones and speakers. The maximum system ca-

pacity is either 16 or 32 speaker circuits.

The administrative telephone card manages data and audio for the

administrative telephones. The field wiring is terminated at the ad-

ministrative telephones through a customer-provided distribution

punch block. Each card includes a 12-foot (3.7 m) pigtail cable with

connector.

All audio functions in the system operate within the following priority

scheme. Audio functions in descending order of priority are: emer-

gency page, civil emergency, manual time tone and high priority

event tone, all call and zone page, intercom, custodial tone, low pri-

ority event tone, and audio program distribution. A lower priority

event may be interrupted by a higher priority event if necessary. In-

terrupted lower priority functions will be restored after the higher pri-

ority function ends. Telephone conversations will not be interrupted

by the above listed functions.

The master clock feature provides a 500 event, 16 schedule, and

32 multi-purpose zone clock. This clock can function as a slave or

master time keeping device, capable of correcting both digital and

analog secondary clocks.
