Being a fashion photographer is as much inspiring as it is intimidating. Fashion is an industry that demands quality and quantity at a never ending pace. Fashion, the art of all ages, is the life everyone lives in, regardless if they are conscious of it or not. With so many means of expression, the focus is always changing; always ready for the next new movement. In order to succeed in the fashion world, you have to be open-minded and be able to fearlessly jump for any opportunity that comes your way.
With my dramatic use of lighting and embedded symbolism within each scene, I strive to stand out among the over saturated world of photographers. Being a fashion and advertising photographer, I am often drawn to projects that allow me to work with people from a variety of backgrounds. Being able to work with different people is one of my greatest strengths as an individual and a photographer. I am eager to go the extra mile to make an image the best it can be. I am always ready for a new challenge that will encourage me to stretch my creative abilities. I strive for my images to not only inspire others but to provoke emotional responses.

MyScenes
Through my work, I’ve been able to visit some pretty
amazing spaces which inspiremy images. I have also been to
some scenes where there really isn’t much to work with.Where ever I am, I try to look
at a scene from different angles. Always check around the corner and it never hurts
to look backwards!
BehindTHE LENS
When you’re inspired by photographers like Annie Leibovitz and Steven Meisel you start to believe the are no limits to what you can create. It was Richard Avedon’s image“Dovima with the Elephants” that produced a desire to photograph an elephant for my own work. “Not Your Mom & Pop Circus” was created from two shoots, a trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo and a day messing around in the studio.
A trip to the zoo Just a bag of hay, a bag of popcorn, a hula hoop and four plastic table covers.
This scene was a pit stop on a trip to Georgia, with my life sister, Sami. Friends are easy go to models! Sami has modeled for me before. She and all my friends support me however they can! Thanks guys!
I took this image on a sunny day in October, my birthday. My significant other took me out for breakfast in the Strip District. We bought f lowers from a street vendor and that is all she wrote!
MyThesis: Be Yourself
Through Be Yourself, I wanted to present the negative effects of society’s ideals and how it pollutes self-worth. This project was a very deep and emotional journey for me. I want this series to make an impact on people who are going through the same issues that I went through. Be Yourself features images of certain critical moments in my life and my emotions through the transition from the years of low self-esteem to my redeemed self-confidence. I have also included recreations of selected nudes inspired by Jeanloup Sieff, Man Ray and Imogen Cunningham that celebrate the female figure as is, without manipulation.
The back of Be Yourself also features “Thoughts by Real Women, For Real Women.” A collection of statements by five very influential women who have dramatically impacted my life and the way that I look at myself.

“Be Yourself”needed to happen in my
development as a photographer in the fashion industry. I needed to understand my strengths and be
confident in myself as an individual before I could begin a successful
career as an artist.
